I’m not sure if it’s worse now, or whether we just have more access to the information.
When I was 12...I was pushed to the ground by two lads bigger than me, in some woods near my house. ‘Luckily’, for want of a better expression...they only kicked me a few times. They dislocated my jaw, but that was it.
I had a friend who ran off to get help, and there was a Cub Scout leader nearby with Cubs. Maybe my attackers were frightened off by him.
Unfortunately for them...I knew them. I don’t remember involving the police. My dad went round to see their parents. One of the boys had such a severe beating from his father, my father had to stop him. I think he ( the boy’s father), was embarrassed he’d attacked a girl.
This was 50 years ago.
