Boris and Carrie have just announced the birth of a daughter. No further news yet.

Shelflife Thu 09-Dec-21 11:12:19

I agree Boz , very bad form indeed!

Alegrias1 Thu 09-Dec-21 11:15:12

Who's been nasty about the baby?

Poor child can't choose her father.

Ilovecheese Thu 09-Dec-21 11:18:49

Can someone point me to a post that has been nasty about the baby?

Whitewavemark2 Thu 09-Dec-21 11:20:35

Boz

To be nasty about a newborn baby is terrible. What has that child done to deserve it. Bad form.

You are entirely misquoting me.

My argument is with a feckless father, who happens to be our Prime minister, whose moral vacuuming has led to lying to the nation, who partied while a child’s mother was dying, who has presided over swinging cuts to UC and the increase in NI ensures that poverty spreads, whilst the intention is to cut tax.

I cannot separate, the happy coincidence of a baby’s birth, with the resultant celebration whilst other are grieving over a year without their loved ones, or those wondering how they are going to eat this Christmas.

I simply can’t do it.

I don’t think anyone has said anything bad about the baby, but it’s not appropriate to bad mouth the parents on this particular thread. There are plenty of other threads where posters can, and do, do that.
A new mother, a brand new baby girl, it’s a joyful day for Carrie, and also for Boris. Happy Birthday little girl.

What nasty bitchy comments on this thread about the birth of a new baby.

And what would you call the spectacle of Stratton laughing, whilst people desperate to see their dying loved ones including children and their mother?

I’m sorry but Johnson has forfeited every last bit of respect.

Stratton is nothing to do with the birth of a baby. There are other threads about her. How cynical and unpleasant can people be over a new innocent baby.

Namsnanny Thu 09-Dec-21 11:23:58

I'd forgotten Carrie was pregnant!

Grandma70s Thu 09-Dec-21 11:24:48

I wonder what they will call her? What’s the girl equivalent of Wilfred?

Boz Thu 09-Dec-21 11:25:56

The birth of a child is a call for celebration. Please don't politicise it.

Every new life is a joyous occasion.

Flipping heck, this wee newborn is not responsible for the deeds of its parents…

Quite a few people on this thread need reminding of this, some very nasty remarks.

I think it’s wonderful news that Carrie Johnson has had a baby girl.

EllanVannin Thu 09-Dec-21 11:45:08

I hadn't known, but I hope both are well. A lovely Christmas present.

Hello Ellan I’m so pleased to see you’re back. X

??????
If posters cannot separate politics from any other news then maybe best to say nothing.
Fortunately, as this thread shows, most posters can, and have done. A little charity at Christmas?
Am pleased for them that their daughter is born safely.

I would call that a silly girl behaving VERY innappropriately in private who should have known that the video would be kept by someone and get out at some point. Given her job she should have known MUCH better and not trusted any of the other people who had access to the equipment, especially after being involved in the Cummings stupidity.
As I understand it, it was a practice session in using new equipment and media skills training. My late husband did it for his job. You are taught how to handle difficult questions appropriately. He did his with a very secure private company who had to guarantee that the only copy of the video kept (this was some 20 years ago way before phones would do videos) would be given to the trainee, not even the company got a copy although he had to show his copy to his manager after the course. I have seen the video too. The whole thing was taken very seriously. I suspect in the case of Stratton, they people involved were allowed access to the equipment without proper oversight because it wasn't thought needful.

Another here who wishes that NEWS and POLITICS were 2 separate threads! It’s too easy to conflate the two and smudge the lines.

I’m going to report my post in the hope that GNHQ might consider doing this in the new year!

EllanVannin Thu 09-Dec-21 12:05:04

Aw thankyou maddyone and lemongrove xx It's good to be back----even though my coffee breaks will be longer now grin

You do understand that wouldnt stop anyone posting a view about Johnson on a news thread.

sodapop Thu 09-Dec-21 12:21:59

Whatever my feelings about Boris I'm glad Carrie has had her baby safely. Good luck and happiness little girl.

Good to see you posting again EllanVannin ??

That's sort of true Galaxy but they might get tired after a while and skulk back to the Politics threads! I live in hope.
