who would you like to replace him - from either side?

Or is he the best of a bad bunch?

love0c Sun 12-Dec-21 08:56:09

Three words for you. 'Shoot me now'.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 12-Dec-21 08:56:58

If I was a Tory, certainly not anyone tainted with association of this government. They have all been complicit with lying, cronyism, incompetence and lack of integrity.

Nothing to say that they won’t keep this low level up.

I would hope for much higher standards.

Who then?

Galaxy Sun 12-Dec-21 08:57:31

Well I would like a labour government but as we are not due an election yet if he goes it will be a conservative.
In that case pretty much anyone in the party would be preferable for me, with a couple of exceptions, I have never viewed Johnson as a conservative really. Honestly Gove or anyone would be preferable.

Galaxy Sun 12-Dec-21 08:59:12

They would be tainted that's true WW but I see Johnson as a very damaged man, and whoever replaced him hopefully wouldnt be that.

Kim19 Sun 12-Dec-21 09:05:53

Good question KL. Haven't a clue and I used to be seriously interested in politics. There's a lady called Jesse - her surname escapes me - in the Labour party who comes over to me as having masses of integrity. Other than her, currently zilch, but that may be because I've lost interest and no longer am aware of many individuals. I am so weary of the pathetic seeming idiots who are appearing on tv these days as representatives of their partties. Yuck.

Casdon Sun 12-Dec-21 09:07:43

If we shot you now love0c you wouldn’t be able to vote at all, so more chance of whoever you don’t want getting in. Not that you’d care if you’d been shot!

Given it has to be a Tory as they are in power I’d bring back Kenneth Clarke.

I think the Muppets would do a better job!

I think the Muppets would do a better job!

Talking of films, Hugh Grant. He manages to charm his way out of answering questions, eats chocolate biscuits while signing documents and dances across the landing at number 10 to Jump!

Galaxy Sun 12-Dec-21 09:13:26

The thing is I think Johnson could do all those things Josianne and probably would if he thought it would work grin

love0c Sun 12-Dec-21 09:13:32

Ok. I will go with the flow then. I vote 'Batman'.

Lucca Sun 12-Dec-21 09:15:10

Chukka Umunna but sadly he’s no longer an MP.
Absolutely not JRM or Gove Raab Hancock Patel etc
That Tugendhat guy seems to have some integrity.

I’d be interested (genuinely) to know what conservative voting GN posters think ….taking the Not Boris as a given who would they like ?

Riverwalk Sun 12-Dec-21 09:20:01

I don't know about best of the bad bunch, but they really are
bad.

Just looked at the Cabinet to see if there was anyone I would pick and came up with a blank.

The photo of Michael Gove made me laugh - just something about his face!

I have said consistently that my money is on Mr.Sunak.

And he's not a Tory!

rosie1959 Sun 12-Dec-21 09:22:08

With all that is going on at the moment with Omicron the last thing we really need is a leadership race.
But if the PM is to be replaced then my inclination is that it will be Rishi Sunak

kittylester Sun 12-Dec-21 09:22:19

As a Tory voter, I agree about Chukka, lucca. I was so disappointed that the potential 'middle' party disappeared.

I also agree about Tom Tugendhat and Jess Phillips.

The OP,asked from any party.

Riverwalk Sun 12-Dec-21 09:24:26

Sorry Lucca I see Kitty said either side.

Still don't think Chuka was much cop though!

Riverwalk Sun 12-Dec-21 09:27:30

I keep reading/hearing that Liz Truss is the party favourite (party members around the country).

She seems a very weak candidate to me - can't see that happening.

love0c Sun 12-Dec-21 09:29:12

Richard Tice.

I agree.

Peasblossom Sun 12-Dec-21 09:30:45

Ha, ha Riverwalk I did the same and googled who there was.

How about Lord Grimstone of Boscabel.

Game of Thrones? ?

25Avalon Sun 12-Dec-21 09:32:16

Shoot me but even Nigel Farage would be better than what we have at the moment ☹️At least he would be decisive even if we didn’t like it! The current lot just fairy around amongst other things and I can’t see Labour being any better.

Listening to her rhetoric ?. There is no way she could persuade anyone of anything.
