Sheldon and Amy can have all the fun with all the flags. It is how it should be

When you say " regulations that only affect England." do those regulations apply to Wales and NI too? If so, which flags would be appropriate?

Alegrias1 Tue 14-Dec-21 20:59:11

Why do we need the flags on display at all? We don't need the flags in this situation.

I believe the measures announced by Johnson do not apply anywhere other than England.

Methinks the divide and rule strategy is going swimmingly….

Casdon Tue 14-Dec-21 21:51:39

Alegrias1 is correct Elegran, the English covid rules do not apply in Wales or Northern Ireland either, we have our own.
We may not need them, but I don’t mind flags being on display as long as they are the right flags for the audience being addressed.

I suppose if you own big flags your dead body can rolled in it

A friend of ours has died today and his widow has just phoned and asked if we can obtain a flag for his coffin.

The Union Jack flag was draped over my dad's coffin by The British Legion. I'll never forget it, felt so respectful, he was in WW2.
Hope you can manage this Calistemon?

Calistemon Tue 14-Dec-21 22:46:26

I don't think she meant a Union flag.

Calistemon Tue 14-Dec-21 22:48:12

Thank you, Sweetpeasue, X post.
It will either be the Welsh flag or the Ensign.

Sweetpeasue Tue 14-Dec-21 22:59:10

Oh I'm so sorry. I didnt realise. Sincerely hope your friend will feel some comfort with either of these meaningful flags. So sorry fot your loss.

Thank you. He was more DH's friend although he and I used to go to art class together. A lovely Welshman.
