Anyone else excited? ?
I bet that Angela Rayner couldn’t sleep last night!

I assume that she’ll be doing it as Starmer is self isolating (for the sixth time, no less).

Apparently, Johnson is making a statement before PMQs, which is highly unusual.

So, just had a thought, when we were unable to meet with our families and friends, if we'd only known to form companies all together we could have had work events in our gardens that might have 'looked' like social gatherings but weren't.

AGAA4 Wed 12-Jan-22 13:07:57

bring your own booze on the invitation is hardly what you would expect if it was work.

Rosie51 Wed 12-Jan-22 13:07:33

Casdon

It clearly wasn’t, but had it been a work do his wife shouldn’t have been there.

That's what I was coming on to say. How can they try to squirm out of it by saying it was a 'work meeting' and then justify Carrie being there? Although that was never raised with the leaked photographs event either. I scream at the TV 'ask what Carrie was doing at official work events'

The MP who said that the PM is morally distanced from the people is spot on.

So he “happened” to go into the garden and lo and behold- found a group of people there that he had unknowingly invited, but wasn’t sure if it was a party - his wife could have told him as she was drinking gin.

He continues to lie.

BBbevan Wed 12-Jan-22 12:58:21

Wriggle, wriggle, wriggle. What else can we hope for given the sort of man he is ?.

Devorgilla Wed 12-Jan-22 12:56:35

Just been told that a journalist has tweeted that they couldn't see BJ in the car taking him to PMQs. They believe he was in the car but lying down, presumably covered by the proverbial blanket. That beats the fridge any day of the week,

Doodledog Wed 12-Jan-22 12:53:56

Yes. He is also buying time to see what else Cummings has on him, and to see if his PR team can conjure up another, more positive story to break on the day of the enquiry results.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 12-Jan-22 12:53:04

He is never going to stop lying. That is what our politics has been reduced to.

MayBee70 Wed 12-Jan-22 12:52:48

So the enquiry is going to confirm that Johnson attended an illegal event that he admits that he attended confused

AGAA4 Wed 12-Jan-22 12:46:37

He has been asked to do the decent thing and resign by MPs from all nations of the UK. He isn't a decent man and is giving himself wriggle room by asking everyone to wait for the results of the enquiry.

Doodledog Wed 12-Jan-22 12:40:18

Well yes. But given that, what is he waiting for the enquiry to say?

rosie1959 Wed 12-Jan-22 12:31:25

How can it be necessary to wait for the results of an enquiry? How? Either he was there or he wasn't, and he must know. It's not as though someone has asked what he was doing on a random Saturday night in 1987 - he knew beyond doubt that he would be asked about it, and could have checked his diary.

Mine was typically blank on that day, as it goes. A couple of Zoom meetings instead of going in to work, and a reminder to speak to my mother on the phone instead of going to see her in person. Many others had days that they will never forget, and it is unconscionable that the PM is behaving so disrespectfully towards them.

This goes far deeper than not sharing his policies - it a matter of basic decency, which I would hope was shared by those of all political persuasions. He needs to go, and soon.

He did say he was there

MaizieD Wed 12-Jan-22 12:27:47

Well, he's admitted he was there, and also at other parties.

What will the Met police say now? "We don't investigate crimes that have already happened?" grin

Apology not accepted and it's simply not enough. It just won't cut it when people compare their own lives and suffering back in May 2020:

Usual waffle, insincere words, even if he did comb his hair . Whatever he says means nothing . I think this time he has blown it .

vegansrock Wed 12-Jan-22 12:15:06

He apologised but that means nothing unless he does anything about it. Fobbing off questions as predicted.

Hetty58 Wed 12-Jan-22 12:05:19

- until you're reminded that it's no joking matter:

Apology ?.
Resign

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 12-Jan-22 12:03:38

Sorry mixing my metaphors there….

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 12-Jan-22 12:03:24

As the general public would all have been fined, everyone who attended the ‘lockdown parties’ should be fined and should be made to resign their positions.
We really need a clean sweep to get rid of the rot.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 12-Jan-22 12:02:30

He’s lying!!!!

Hetty58 Wed 12-Jan-22 12:02:24

So funny - it reminds me of that hilarious programme 'Yes, Prime Minister':
