He seems to have disappeared.

MerylStreep I would have done the same as you if people needed help. I don't believe you broke any rules with caring responsibilities.

Those at No 10 were caring for nobody but themselves.

No I didn’t but my Alzheimer’s friend came every Sunday for dinner, and still does.

Casdon Tue 18-Jan-22 13:17:20

Gosh this thread is bringing out the best in some people isn’t it.

Mummer Tue 18-Jan-22 13:11:21

Coward liar bully . Funny how Sir K managed to zoom away during several bouts of isolation due to his kids superspreading!

Yes, I broke the rules a lot. Didn’t have much option really as my family’s mental health and one step daughter with physical needs there wasn’t an option.
I’ve supported a neighbour with Alzheimer’s before covid hit: that wasn’t going to stop.
What you going to do, shoot me ?

Firing squad at the ready, MerylStreep.. grin

You did what you felt you absolutely had to do but I'm sure that you didn't invite the neighbours in for drinkies and nibbles on a regular basis...

I didn't realise until today what a bunch of biased Labour supporters the ladies on Grandnet were, I would just like to ask when is Keir Starmer going to apologise for drinking beer in an enclosed space during lockdown, oh I forgot he was working.

There was never any 'rule' about drinking alcohol in enclosed spaces.

Nor was there any 'rule' about not working in enclosed spaces, just guidance that said work from home if at all possible.

I think you are very confused and clutching at straws is not a good idea.

I haven’t broken any COVID rules and neither has my husband! He was receiving chemo for the majority of lockdown anyway. I still haven’t even had a coffee anywhere outside our home. We didn’t meet any family, couldn’t visit Mil when she was on end of life care. Husband is due to have his 4th Covid injection next week. I am so so disgusted with Governments behaviour and folk who work in Downing Street. How can they look themselves in the mirror is beyond me. Unforgivable.

JaneJudge Tue 18-Jan-22 12:40:23

I must admit I may have consumed beer in an enclosed space during lockdowns. I used to see my neighbour drinking in his shed too

Absolutely and totatlly different situations! How ridiculous to even begin to compare.

I refer you to Raab. Him of the Tory party.

He agrees that it was an acceptable thing to do whilst working.

I am another one who can say, hand on heart, that I didn't break the rules. Not because I was afraid of being caught but because I honestly thought that is was the best way to suppress the virus, for the good of us all.

JaneJudge Tue 18-Jan-22 12:00:57

this photo?

Have you seen the video of him dancing at a party? Not sure if it was a lockdown party, you'll have to wait for Sue Gray

tigger Tue 18-Jan-22 11:59:00

Running around St. James's park with his dog

WendyBT Tue 18-Jan-22 11:56:59

There's a photo of him in my paper, "jogging" with the dog on a lead. He's wearing a silly hat, patterned shorts that look a bit like the knickers my grandma used to wear, and showing off his chubby knees. Not a figure to inspire confidence as a world leader I would say.

The rumours are circulating that Raab was also at the party that wasn’t a party, so he may be in a difficult position saying anything at all. I’m waiting for the email or photograph that is doubtless coming soon.

To be fair to the poor fella, he struggles with basic geography at the best of times

Another idiocy from Raab

Raab: “There was speculation that the May 20 party was held in my honour to thank me, it’s just ridiculous.”

@KayBurley
: So it was a party!

“No, exactly, er, no, er, the, no no no no. This is the claim that was made, it was nonsense, I wasn’t invited and I didn’t attend.”

But Johnson even claimed that the 'work meeting' was a welcome back for himself after his brush with covid and a thank you to Raab for holding the fort as deputy PM.

Or did I dream it?

This lot are so caught up in the lies that they can't even be consistent with their excuses.

Why are you all so cynical, it's nauseating. I'm no supporter of the Tories or Boris but nor do I think we'd be better off with Starmer. On the whole Boris and the others have done well reacting to the situation day after awful day. There shouldn't have been parties of course but before we criticise we should all look back over the last two years. Can we all honestly say we haven't broken or 'bent' the rules a bit, and then justified it to ourselves. Be honest.

Yes I can honestly say I did not break or bend rules.

Any specific reason we would not be better off with Starmer ?

JaneJudge Tue 18-Jan-22 11:38:56

Dominic Raab's education was wasted on him

MaizieD Tue 18-Jan-22 11:38:51

^Can we all honestly say we haven't broken or 'bent' the rules a bit, and then justified it to ourselves. Be honest.%

Did you break or 'bend' the rules,*LuckyFour*? Are you expecting posters to 'fess up' to doing it to make yourself feel better about doing so?

Because I find your post (and those made on similar lines by other GNetters) rather insulting to the millions of people who didn't do it and who are rightly furious to find that the PM, who made the rules blithely disregarded them, not once or twice but consistently on many occasions. You are implying that we are a load of hypocrites.

Well, I can tell you that I and my family didn't break or bend the rules, nor did anyone that I know.

People made unimaginable sacrifices because they thought that they were doing the right thing to keep their fellow citizens safe and to check the spread of a very nasty disease. People were being arrested and fined large amounts for infringement of the rules. High profile people were hounded out of their jobs for infringement of the rules And all the time those who should have been setting an example were continuously ignoring them.

So just keep your guilt to yourself.
