As if there isn't enough evidence that Johnson is unfit for office

Now we read reports that senior civil servants and ministers were having to insist that Johnson works from the office and not from home due to red boxes, many of them full of highly sensitive information, laying about in the Downing Street flat, open for all to see including Carrie's pals and friends who were frequent visitors. It has been described as a 'Frat house atmosphere', with people in and out.

Everything Johnson touches or comes into contact with he despoils.

It is now getting so serious that our biggest institutions in the form of the the civil service, police and parliament are now reeling under huge hits to their credibility.

Great post Germanshepherdsmum. I agree with you and hope you are right that Johnson's colleagues will do the right thing.

I was impressed that Andrew Mitchell had the guts to stand up yesterday and tell Johnson that he no longer had his support. I know Mitchell’s past isn’t unblemished but I believe that once the police investigation is over, and regardless of‘innocent until proven guilty’, I have no doubt that Johnson will be found guilty of several covid breaches, then well in excess of the necessary number of letters will go to Graham Brady. I would be amazed if Johnson volunteered his resignation. The whole business is shameful and I can’t think of another PM from any party who would have behaved like this.

Quite agree, Casdon. And it's humiliating to think of Putin and all other world leaders laughing their socks off at us.

Chocolatelovinggran Tue 01-Feb-22 09:46:18

Oh, Petera, thank you ! ? I quote this research regularly, and loved this version.

Casdon Tue 01-Feb-22 09:33:58

I think you are right Germanshepherdsmum, I’m not a Tory voter but there are some principled and caring Tory MPs, some of whom have felt so strongly about how Johnson has behaved that they have already stood up to be counted, which is a difficult thing to do and which they should be applauded for.
I hope the party are able to find a suitable, credible leader soon because it’s not doing the country any good at all being in the position we are at the moment. It shocked me when it was reported Johnson missed his planned phone call yesterday with President Putin because he had to defend his position in parliament. Things like that should never be allowed to happen.

I’ve never supported Johnson but I am a Conservative voter. I’d like to see him go and be replaced by someone with integrity and an attention span who doesn’t see the job as giving him and his wife free reign to do as they wish. We had a thread about who that might be a few days ago and I’m not seeking to rehash it, but the way he has behaved has caused so many to believe that ‘they’re all the same’. They’re not.

Then those decent Conservative MPs should take a stand and speak up. Not a great fan of Theresa May but she has been one of the few to openly show her disapproval. There must be more?‍♀️

This PM lurches from one damning revelation to another with that self-satisfied smirk on his face knowing that his brown-nosed buddies in the Cabinet will support him no matter what. I fail to see what can oust him from office unless Cummings has a time bomb on Boris ticking away.

His behaviour and close links to Russian oligarchs was a real concern when he was Foreign Secretary, to MI5 and to Mrs May- but it is even more so currently.

Kali2 Mon 31-Jan-22 10:12:21

It mirrors GN well then- probably because it is the reality.

LBC this morning on the right wing slot with Nick Ferrari

The question was what are the benefits of Brexit.

Zilch, nada, not a single benefit was phoned in.

THERE IS NO BENEFIT FROM BREXIT.

Katie Price, Joan Collins- they might have stories to tell!

And he made Lebedev a Peer in the Lords too. Stinks.

''A trip Boris Johnson made to Italy for a party held by a billionaire socialite ended with the then foreign secretary at an airport “looking like he had slept in his clothes”, struggling to walk in a straight line and telling other passengers he had had a heavy night, the Guardian has been told.

Pictures of the now prime minister along with an account from a fellow traveller shed further light on Johnson’s weekend away at the home of the media owner Evgeny Lebedev, who is known for hosting uproarious parties for the rich and famous at his converted castle near Perugia.

Johnson has refused to answer questions about the visit in April last year, including whether he flew to Italy against the advice of his officials and without the 24/7 security detail usually assigned to the foreign secretary.

The pictures, taken at San Francesco d’Assisi airport on Sunday 29 April 2018, suggest he did go to Italy without a police escort.''

We also know that Johnson has had Russian friends.

He has totally played fast and loose with Britain's security.

He was hosted by Russian Oligarchs in their 'mafia' mansions in Umbria, Italy. With a lot of wine, good food, women provided and probably a lot more. They probably have enough on him to blackmail him forever! Wasn't he stripped of his access to secret documents because he was seen as a huge risk of blackmail.

Paddyann why on earth not?
I wasn’t before, but have recently joined The Labour Party.
It is the least that I can do

The Labour Party, The Conservative Party...

Other options are available wink

But with the First Past the Post System, not really, sadly.

FannyCornforth Mon 31-Jan-22 09:23:15

Yes please -take it!

Alegrias1 Mon 31-Jan-22 09:22:33

In England.

We've found our own way of keeping the Tories out of power in Scotland.

Sorry Al, yes of course smile
Lucky you ???????

I apologise for my Sassanachcentricity (that took some typing!)

Petera thank you, I didn’t know that it was called the Dunning Kruger Effect, but I have seen it in action with primary school children.
When I’ve asked a cohort of children ‘who can tell the time?’;
all of the kids who think that they can can’t, and those who think they can’t can smile

I know that ‘other options are available’ Alegrias
I’m not a flag waving fan of Labour, but I do believe that they have got the best chance of getting shut of the present lot.
