Does anybody else think the Queen has lost weight?

Should we be concerned?

It isn’t unusual but what I find odd is that her watch strap wasn’t altered so that we wouldn’t see that it sags and that her dress wasn’t altered to fit her.
Seems odd.

Showing concern is just showing you care.

I’m glad the Queen now uses a walking stick. I was so afraid she would stumble it was getting to the point where I was almost holding my breath and watching through my fingers. ?

The Queen has lost weight but is still remarkable for her age.
I wonder if she’s putting her house in order after the health scare. Andrew, Camilla - clear responsibility as ever from Her Majesty.

Yes, she is looking thinner. Maybe she prefers her dresses too big to hide it a bit.
But, yes, she is amazing for her age, bright and articulate still.

Yes, her clothes need altering to fit. They don't need to be tight but the fit of her dresses wouldn't pass muster on the Sewing Bee.

We thought she looked frail but she is 96 so not surprised. She looks really good, bless her.

karmalady Thu 10-Feb-22 10:49:40

her eyes are bright and she was animated. I was taught `to observe` she looks very well, best not to carry extra weight at her age

Grannynannywanny Thu 10-Feb-22 10:53:34

Maybe she read the rather personal remarks a few weeks ago about how she needed a good fitting bra and has decided to opt for looser fitting clothes instead.

According to the family fashionista she’s bang on trend with her loose fitting dresses. ?

I do think age has a lot to do with it, but you have to factor in that she will still be mourning Prince Philip. As stoic as she is in public, it must be taking its’ toll.

I think she still rides. There was a picture of her on horseback not long ago. For such a great age she is fantastic and it's quite normal to lose weight when bereaved. She's still got her beautiful smile. ?

Yes, t thought the same! They don’t look too big or ill fitting, they look stylish and comfortable to me. Much better than fussy, tight, restrictive clothes.

MayBeMaw are you concerned about every elderly person losing weight (a normal occurance) or only about Mrs Windsor?

What a silly question.

SueDonim Thu 10-Feb-22 13:42:48

My mum is just a year younger than the Queen, at 94. My mum has always been on the larger side but her upper body in particular is now getting thinner.

I don’t think either the Queen or my mum looks frail, though. Both are animated in their presentation and interested in life.

V3ra Thu 10-Feb-22 14:03:52

SueDonim my mother-in-law is exactly the same as you describe.

For her age HM is quite able although shrinking noticeably, nice clothes that look good does become a concern. I hope I look that good at 95.

Socksandsocks01 Thu 10-Feb-22 16:14:39

Yes judging by that dress

She is remarkable for almost 96. She is still smiling despite all she has been through recently. She has gone thinner but my mum did as she aged.

Iam64 Thu 10-Feb-22 18:56:16

Oh dear, Prince Charles was with her 2 days before testing positive

snowberryZ Thu 10-Feb-22 21:41:30

She's starting to fail.
She's hasn't just lost weight, her shoulders have become very narrow and she's shrunk all over and all of a sudden.
Sadly it's a sign that she doesn't have long.
My mother in law went from being stocky to a fragile little bird overnight and died 6 months later.

snowberryZ Thu 10-Feb-22 21:46:41

Of course I hope I'm wrong and that she has a few years in her still.
But it's the suddenness of the weightless that's concerning.
Probably all the stress her family's put on her recently.
Shame on them.
