Reading this article about a Russian journalist’s protest I was so impressed by her bravery but I’m sure I wouldn’t possess that courage.

Lucca Tue 15-Mar-22 07:03:39

Sorry if article is in wrong order.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 15-Mar-22 07:08:00

Gosh that is so brave of her. I agree with you Lucca I don’t think I could have done that. She has children as well. It’s very likely she’ll be jailed or worse.

M0nica Tue 15-Mar-22 07:21:29

You do not know what you would do until the moment of doing it arrives

Antonia Tue 15-Mar-22 07:33:21

No, I definitely wouldn't, given the probable consequences.

mokryna Tue 15-Mar-22 07:34:35

She is a real hero for humanity.

tanith Tue 15-Mar-22 07:39:40

I salute her bravery ??

mumofmadboys Tue 15-Mar-22 07:43:39

I agree she is tremendously brave

How much longer can this madman continue to wreak such tragedy on another country? There are some hugely brave people and actions both in Russia and in Ukraine. My heart goes out to them all.

M0nica Tue 15-Mar-22 07:55:44

Until someone close to him, or probably a group of people close to him, remove him, preferably retirement caused by a sudden deterioration in his health, arrest, at worst assasination.

I am worried about this brave woman. What will Putin do to her?

travelsafar Tue 15-Mar-22 08:57:48

My thoughts too AGAA4, people have a habit of disappearing for ever in Russia. Her parents if still alive, must be terrified for their daughter's safety. sad

giulia Tue 15-Mar-22 09:01:47

I had exactly the same thought when I heard this news today, Lucca. I dread to think where she is now and how she is being treated.

Yammy Tue 15-Mar-22 09:10:42

.It's just been on the news her lawyers do not know where she is and are presuming she is in police custody and probably will appear in court today. The words on her poster had been blurred out on Russian T.V.
Such a brave action her parents must be so worried.sad

Calendargirl Tue 15-Mar-22 09:17:51

In answer to the OP, no, but I wish I was.

ayse Tue 15-Mar-22 09:21:09

I salute her bravery. What a courageous young woman, knowing the consequences of her action. ????????. I doubt if many of us would have done the same, although we would like to think we might.

I understand that many young Russians have left their country full of despair for their government’s actions. I hope the West will also offer asylum, in these circumstances.

JaneJudge Tue 15-Mar-22 09:24:32

No sad

Serendipity22 Tue 15-Mar-22 09:31:59

Brave yes, no doubt about that, BUT what are the consequences! Obviously none of is have the answer, but 1 deluded person will.

Serendipity22 Tue 15-Mar-22 09:32:36

us

Anniebach Tue 15-Mar-22 09:33:26

No

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 15-Mar-22 09:48:48

No. She knows the probable consequences for herself but she will also cause her family to suffer.

Kalu Tue 15-Mar-22 09:59:35

I read this newsfeed late last night.
Incredibly brave woman especially with the knowledge of the high price to pay for her actions. ?

Coastpath Tue 15-Mar-22 10:09:50

What an incredible act of bravery. Inspirational.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 15-Mar-22 11:03:42

It’s just been reported that she has been in touch with a lawyer and is in all probability looking at a jail sentence of anything between 5 to 15 years.

I know I am not that brave, but without people like her the Russian people will not know the truth of the situation.
