Back to Nazanin. She is finally in the air on her way home

There is only one reason that we have this happy ending in site for this poor lady, and that's the recognition by the UK govt that it needs another oil supplier now that things are going pear-shaped on the Russian front, and that it's not going to get that oil supplier without paying its very large debt. Of course the UK has coughed up. There was never going to be any choice about this.

Just seen pic of this fine woman onboard and coming HOME! TeArs of joy are being shed - such good news at an awful time in the World….

At this moment in time I am just so happy that both Nazanin and Anoosheh Ashoori are on their way back home to their families.

I also hope that they are given the much needed privacy away from the media to start their physical and mental healing.

Let it be so!

On her way home, chartered plane for the last leg, landing at Brize Norton RAF base

This is just amazing news. So happy for her husband and little girl. The news comes as an oasis in a desert right now.

So wonderful to have this really great good news story. Cannot believe what this woman had suffered and her wonderful husband and excellent MP, who have never given up fighting for her to come back home. he can now rest up, reconnect with her daughter and relax. Brilliant news - take it that the UK Government have finally settled the debt they owed Iran.

I won't believe it until I see a picture of her in the UK. I have an Iranian friend who could be in the same situation as she has dual nationality through marriage and she is extremely careful when she visits her family.

Wonderful news - but if the government has paid the debt then it's something that could have been done years ago.
I hope the family will be left alone by the Media so they can enjoy their new life together but somehow I think there will be an agressive bidding war for her story.

I hope she will soon be back with her family. Also the other people held "hostage" by Iran.

I've never understood why the debt was never paid in the first place.

There were reasons apparently why the debt wasn’t paid before.
Something to do with a change of regime in Iran some years ago, along with sanctions imposed on the country.

I believe there is another person allegedly wrongly held who is still imprisoned there.

I agree she now needs privacy. Then she can write her book and eventually make money from the film rights. What an inspiring story she can tell!

The only thing that troubles me about all of this is that Nazarin apparently got into a spot of bother when she visited Iran earlier than this time and she was warned by HMG prior to going. Iran was considered a rogue state. Why on earth did she go back? I’d have thought one warning would have been enough.
