The French GE ... voting starts Sunday. ??

Maybe just not so cross with us or Brexit? Especially as Macron is an EU stick of rock whereas Le Pen (at one time) favoured Frexit and is not so enamoured with the EU and the euro.

Is LePen not more enamoured with Russia than the EU though? That's a worry isn't it?

Le Pen has not done anything bad enough to be banned from the UK like some silly Labour politician wanted. (Can't remember who - female, a few years back.) We're not Russia in that respect. Even Zemmour was allowed in to do his canvassing bit in London, little good it did him though thankfully.

I don't really know but if and that's a big if she does get elected it will certainly shake things up a bit within France and the EU. Obviously I am English so just an observer with no vote just my opinions, whether they are worth anything or not.

I think considering what has happened over the last few years he has managed well.

You must go with your heart and gut feeling that's all anyone of us can do. Sometimes who we vote for do us proud but unfortunately sometimes they let us down.

I would be more inclined to go with knowledge and intellect when choosing a leader.
Macron has been a pretty good President and through Covid we have felt in safe hands. Communications have been clear and his speeches to the nation have reassured and explained decisions. He is not perfect, but you have a sense of an intelligent man, doing his best. I think that in the UK you also do not get a sense of the role of the governments of Philippe and Castex. Véran has been a good health minister.
Le Pen has had some better expressed ideas this time (if you like that sort of thing), but she comes across as weak on the economy and frankly not terribly bright.
France cannot afford a populist in charge.

My French family voters are hoping that Macron wins as that means stability.

You're right, mokryna . Although we no longer live there. I still have love for the country and especially the rural areas and the people who live there. We left 4 years ago after 18 happy years.
