Tories accuse Angela Raynor of "doing a Basic Instinct"

Totally outrageous, misogynistic so called news item in the dreaded DM today.

Senior Tories have accused Angela Raynor of distracting our buffoon Prime Minister by crossing and uncrossing her legs - à la Sharon Stone - in Prime Minister's question time.

Can they sink any lower???

Yet another disgusting example of the true mind sets of the guffawing Tories. They're a disgrace yet again.

Volver. No un corroborated when it’s on a podcast.

The GPs I worked with, the men often wore shorts in the summer and the women strappy tops for comfort montymops
What’s wrong with the way Angela Rayner dresses?

tickingbird Wed 27-Apr-22 10:04:57

Not

How is it political gain when people from all parties are deploring it?

As I said - political gain!

Which podcast is that tickingbird?

tickingbird Wed 27-Apr-22 10:13:11

I’ve just listened to it and she’s joking and laughing about it. I’ve tried to do a link but it won’t work.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-Apr-22 10:14:55

How on earth does any of that make what the MoS reported right?

Well it doesn't but it deflects blame, doesn't it?

AR also says she thinks Boris and Gove try and romance her in a fashion as they don’t know how to deal with her. Obviously she denies doing the leg crossing stuff but she’s laughing and joking about it. She strikes me as a well rounded individual who finds this nonsense more comedic than serious. Good for her.

Well if as Casdon said, only JRM can see Ms Rayner's legs, perhaps he needs (or wants) a good spanking from nanny and then his mouth washed out with soap.

I'm sure she'll be damned whichever way she reacts.

... and for the MoS - that's job done.

I'm willing to bet that in her quiet moments, she's not at all amused by the accusation.

tickingbird Wed 27-Apr-22 10:22:08

Should Boris and Gove been outraged by the slurs on them? Imagine the outrage if one of them had stated a female opposition member attempts to schmooze them.

I refuse to take this rubbish seriously.

I believe some pay highly for that service ??.

When I saw her she was concerned about her children seeing any of this trash and annoyed because the insinuation was that she was thick because she went to a comprehensive school.

Misogynistic superiority is still evident in the corridors of power.

To cap it all BBC reported that an MP caught viewing porn in the chamber!

varian Wed 27-Apr-22 12:58:06

Tory sleaze just gets sleazier and sleazier. It is almost as if they were competing to out-sleaze the very sleazy David Warburton.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-Apr-22 13:16:11

As an aside.

Where were the cabinet today at PMQs. It was all very odd, and the backbenches were pretty empty until just before Johnson turned up which is highly unusual.

Parsley3 Wed 27-Apr-22 13:16:23

The porn watching MP was sitting next to a female Conservative colleague at the time and she has reported it. That article about AR has opened up a whole can of worms.

Farzanah Wed 27-Apr-22 13:19:41

The MP who reported it is apparently backed up by another woman. Who’d be a female MP with this culture?

grannyactivist Wed 27-Apr-22 13:30:10

cf Angela Rayner laughing previously about similar slurs.

The suggestion that AR was deliberately using her legs to distract the PM has been described by many as ‘ludicrous’, the dictionary definition of which is: causing laughter because of absurdity; provoking or deserving derision; ridiculous; laughable.

Curlywhirly Wed 27-Apr-22 13:39:28

According to a BBC political correspondent the person who reported the porn-watching MP was actually a Minister, and another MP who witnessed it also complained. Why on earth would anybody risk their reputation by watching porn in the chamber (or any work/public setting?). Talk about having a death wish!

tickingbird Wed 27-Apr-22 13:46:15

Probably par for the course with that lot.

It's quite unbelievable, isn't it? The embarrassment of being found out would be enough to put most people off (unless that was part of the thrill, I suppose).

There was someone a while ago who was caught with porn on his work computer, and I thought that then, too - bad enough to watch it in work time, but to use work equipment compounds the felony, but to know you'd then have to face constituents after getting caught just shows so many errors of judgement that it makes no sense.

He clearly didn't find Angela's legs exciting enough..

I've read somewhere today that there have been claims that more than one male MP has been watching porn while in the Commons chamber. Can't find it again, though to check...

Farzanah Wed 27-Apr-22 14:11:35

Apart from the inappropriateness of this in the Chamber, to sit near to a female MP whilst porn watching which was easily visible shows a serious contempt for women, and indeed other colleagues.
