Con MP Neil Parish has been named as the MP viewing porn sites whilst in The House of Commons.
He is a married father and grandfather shame on him if this is proved correct.

Very accident prone, our mps aren't they?

Yes, poor lambs. Forever being waylaid by rogue cakes and porn

MissAdventure Fri 29-Apr-22 23:06:02

It's the cakes fault...

Men watch porn that’s a fact, mostly it’s discrete, in secret if you like. To watch port with a woman either side of you is utter contempt of reasonable behavior, it’s taking the pi$$, as Parish is also being investigated for other inappropriate behavior with women it’s time to go.

He has a 24000 majority in his seat, he should resign and let a better Tory take his place.

Joseanne Sat 30-Apr-22 10:50:57

Living in East Devon he is MP for our next door constituency. He campaigns a lot for rural and animal issues, but I'm sure he wouldn't be missed. There's nothing much about it yet in the local news, in some ways people here are more worried about employment for the young and better transport links. They will start to question what their MP stands for.
I think what he did is wrong and this needs addressing across the house.
I feel sorry for his family and the many people who voted for him.

welbeck Sat 30-Apr-22 13:17:41

in any other job he would be sacked immediately.
that happened in my workplace some 20 years ago.
they were gone instantly. never seen again.
and nobody had actually seen them watching porn; a disk was found in their desk when they were absent and others were checking some work.

Luckygirl3 Sat 30-Apr-22 13:34:25

He is implying, although not saying, that he landed up on the site by mistake .... hmmmm.

I think that MPs should hand in their phones as they walk into the chamber - watching anything at all on your phone means that you are not concentrating on the job you are being paid to do.

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 30-Apr-22 13:42:14

I think they need to be contactable as they may have urgent constituency business to attend to, so I don’t object to having phones in the House. However it’s sometimes obvious that they are just scrolling.
I don’t buy the ‘accidental’ excuse and presumably if someone had sent him a dodgy video which he opened without knowing the contents any sane person would delete it, not watch it, and no offence would have been committed. The fact that he is apparently going to resign speaks volumes.

BlueBelle Sat 30-Apr-22 13:58:24

When my Uni granddaughter works in McDonalds or behind the bar in a club she has to leave her phone in her locker ?? MPs should do the same they should not have their darned phones while AT WORK
So when he opened his phone it just popped up I wonder what else just popped up
As for his wife it doesn’t bother me what he was watching but he shouldn’t have been watching ANYTHING or sleeping or playing patience on his phone
Ban them for when they are at work if that is work !! Half of them snooze off and just wake up to go yah yah yah

Galaxy Sat 30-Apr-22 14:01:44

Of course it matters what he was watching. It wasnt an episode of Eastenders. I view people watching porn in front of others without their consent in the sane way as I view people who expose themselves.

H1954 Sat 30-Apr-22 14:06:08

What a sleazy, disgusting excuse of a man! No one accidentally watches porn!

He shouldn't have even been using his mobile in the Commons anyway, he's supposed to be working isn't he?!

And for his wife to comment that many husbands watch porn..........she making excuses because she's afraid he will lose his seat and all the gratuities that go with it! She is as bad as him!

Parsley3 Sat 30-Apr-22 14:06:24

He is expected to resign according to BBC news.

BlueBelle Sat 30-Apr-22 14:07:33

Galaxy it doesn’t matter what he’s watching because he shouldn’t be watching ANYTHING
Are you saying hr can watch anything else at work but not Porn
That’s crazy
It’s up to his wife to sort out her marriage if he’s watching porn full stop but the problem is whatever he’s watching even if it’s Andy pandy he’s not paying attention to his work is he ?

Galaxy Sat 30-Apr-22 14:09:18

No I am saying its more serious because it is porn. You are involving people in your 'getting off' (sorry there is no polite way to put this) without their consent.

vegansrock Sat 30-Apr-22 14:20:50

Porn won’t accidentally pop up unless you’d been watching it before , besides which he’d be on a public HoC wifi so would have to be logged in .

BlueBelle Sat 30-Apr-22 14:31:03

Of course it won’t just be there on your phone Vegansrock he s just making ridiculous unbelievable excuses
And
Of course I understand porn is more unacceptable Galaxy but what I mean is NOTHING should be watched when working nothing is acceptable

Ramblingrose22 Sat 30-Apr-22 14:35:46

Good news folks - breaking news says the prat is going to resign. Hope it's true. After all, the witnesses weren't any old Thomasina, Ricki or Harriet - they were Tory MPs too who just happened to be female. Bad luck eh!

It's about time the system treated parliamentarians like us ordinary folk.

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 30-Apr-22 14:37:40

That’s been breaking news since lunchtime.

Grandmabatty Sat 30-Apr-22 14:44:17

He's not resigned yet though.

Joseanne Sat 30-Apr-22 14:44:42

Good. If he's making the announcement on the streets of Honiton I'd be happy to go and jeer.
What I don't understand is why these people want to end their successful political careers in the gutter.

Couldn’t agree more.

Grandmabatty Sat 30-Apr-22 15:07:21

Apparently he has now resigned citing a 'moment of madness.'

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 30-Apr-22 15:13:17

How easily someone can destroy their career, reputation and maybe family.

MawtheMerrier Sat 30-Apr-22 15:16:20

What a sad, pathetic person he is.
I have no sympathy whatsoever for someone who trousers an MP’s salary for looking at EITHER tractors OR porn when he should be doing his job.

Mamie Sat 30-Apr-22 15:17:26

He said the first time was accidental because he was looking at tractors.
Twitter says his wife has left him a John Deere letter. ?
