Putin - cancer surgery

Those speculating a while back as to whether Putin was ill were right by the sound of it.

The New York Times is reporting that he is going in for surgery and he is meanwhile transferring power to an ex FSB bod.

I thought you were all wrong! Just shows what I know?.

Daisend1 Mon 02-May-22 16:34:51

Heard about it before now on many a news channel.

Sometimes I don't remember what I say on GN from one day to the next, but a few months back I remember writing that Putin was likely to be on corticosteroids for cancer or similar. A relative who is a neurosurgeon, and a former Foreign Secretary who had met Putin was right in his diagnosis that almost certainly the man wasn't going mad or senile but was ill. Something to do with his skin and puffy face.
How would anyone find out that he will be having surgery though?

I wondered if he had a body double as he does look so puffy and wrinkle-free compared to what he was like.
That could be due to the use of steroids, of course.

If anone knows an expert assassin I will gladly contribute a few pounds to their "expenses".

Pepper59 Mon 02-May-22 17:37:38

If the stories about his health are from newspapers here, especially certain newspapers. I'd take this with a large pinch of salt.

Nannagarra Mon 02-May-22 17:41:46

Count me in for a contribution biglouis. The word ‘evil’ doesn’t begin to describe him or a few others I could name.

I seem to remember Rudolf Hess was Hitlers deputy. He was nasty too. Not sure I care to speculate about Putins deputy.

I don't have any sympathy for him at all AGAA4. If he is ill I hope he dies in pain. Or else, that somebody shoots him.

It's a terrible thing to think, I know. But it's true.

That is terrible. I don’t wish pain on anyone. It’s primitive revenge.

What?????? You cannot be serious. Have you been watching the news? People like Hitler and Putin are beyond sympathy, they just need to be eliminated before they do even more damage.

I don’t feel any sympathy for him, obviously, but I don’t believe we should sink to his level. Eliminate him by a quick gunshot by all means, but no need to make anyone, however bad, suffer more than necessary because they made people suffer. “An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth makes the whole world blind”.

My preferred outcome would be a trial at the Hague, but I don't see that happening. If in the interim, he gets some incurable disease that kills him slowly, well that would be ok too.

AGAA4 Mon 02-May-22 17:55:13

I don't want him to die. I want him to suffer. He deserves this.

tickingbird Mon 02-May-22 17:59:08

I fear any replacement may be just as vile. All ex KGB and rotten to the core.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 02-May-22 18:01:55

Definitely trial at The Hague.

Chestnut Mon 02-May-22 18:40:05

Grandma70s This is not a normal person here. I would generally agree with your sentiments, but don't you think Putin is rather different from everyone else? I don't think the whole world will go blind if he suffered a fate worse than death.

Chestnut Mon 02-May-22 18:45:13

I watched a great drama series about the WW2 trials at the Hague and the truly awful characters who were tried. However, they were generally executed which unfortunately doesn't happen any more, so Putin would survive and we really don't want that. So I'm not so keen on having a trial at the Hague.

What about the old traditional methods, hung, drawn and quartered.

I know he’s not a ‘normal person’, but I hope we are morally developed enough not to think that gives us the right to be more violent than necessary. We are, I hope, better than that. Perhaps I’m over-optimistic.

The song says
? Hitler has only got one….
Let’s hope the same applies to Putin, surgery can slice the other off without anaesthetic and let’s see how good he looks on the world stage as the President with no balls at all.

snowberryZ Mon 02-May-22 19:50:57

I can kind of see where Granny'70s is coming from.
He's a despicable character and somebody needs to stop him. But to wish him to be tortured and to die a slow and painful death makes us no better than him, or no better than those 'people' in places like Saudi Arabia who enjoy watching public flogging, stonings, beheadings and other barbaric sub-human practices that apparently are still happening in this day and age.
I'd like to think we've evolved to become better people than that.

MawtheMerrier Mon 02-May-22 19:52:48

Lighten up Snowberry nobody’s perfect ????

volver Mon 02-May-22 20:19:54

I don't think we should torture him. I don't think we should kill him.

I just wish someone in his inner circle would arrange for a sniper, right now, to put a stop to this. If he has a nasty disease and it causes him pain, I won't be shedding any tears or feeling bad for him.

But his capture and then a trial at the Hague is the ideal. Then all that he's done is laid before him. And all those Russians who think he's the saviour of their nation and the liberator of Ukraine find out what's really going on. Then he's found guilty and incarcerated somewhere isolated for the rest of his life. Then generations to come know we're not savages, but that he is.

Oldbat1 Mon 02-May-22 20:54:14

Come on Karma - do your stuff. The world doesn’t need such a despicable person.

Gosh you’d have to be weird to bath in deer antler blood wouldn’t you?

Yes.

The antlers are sawn off while still developing, I think.
Cruel, but that's not surprising.

AGAA4 Tue 03-May-22 08:54:18

Think he was trying alternative treatment which usually doesn't work. Cancer can become more advanced and needs conventional treatment like surgery.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 03-May-22 09:04:45
