Brexit was skewed by covid which has had a far greater impact. The two were in progress at the same time. There is no way of knowing what would have happened without covid. And no-one expected Brexit to sort itself out straight away, it was always going to take time.
It is very simple to set apart the negative effects due to Covid, and those from Brexit, in fact.
Do you think it would have been won by that tiny, weeny majority, if they had said what they are saying now- to wait for 10 years, 20, 50? and knowing that the money would not go to improve facilities and conditions for the north, and for the NHS. 4%? that 4% and a lot more has already gone through demographics alone.
The problem is, is that the more time passes, the more it becomes clear, that time will NOT heal, and that things are getting worse and worse.
