Good Morning Thursday 7th May 2026
I think someone got out of the wrong side of the bed
Project Freedom.. deserves its own thread!
I recently started watching GB News and am finding it so interesting. Once you get past the different format to the usual news programmes it is very good. There are so many different views expressed from all political spectrums. I like that contributors are allowed to say their piece and it's then debated. Not just left or right wing views.

It’s strange that posters on here ask the question constantly are we being run by idiots
Patrick Christy has just asked the same question. 😄

I’ve never asked that question and can’t recall anybody else asking that.
Very good debate going on at the moment about the immigration crisis, says the migrant hotel costs COULD rise to 11,billion a year …
I hope the debaters are asking why it takes a year or more for assylum claims to be assessed
Swayed by what I've read here, I've done some homework

In the past, having seen them on live TV or read their words on social media I would say 14 of them would make switch off immediately as I find their unpleasant attitude to vulnerable people abhorrent.
One I only find irritating.
The rest I know nothing about.
No I will not be watching.
Chardy. Sometimes you have to set your prejudices aside and listen to why people feel as they do. Maybe if those in power had paid more attention to ordinary people instead of dismissing them as bigots Brexit might never have happened.
Many of those listed are not journalists, let alone political ones. I imagine that the rest of them know as much about politics as the man in the street, if not less.

Especially when someone has said they dont have a tv!
If you're referring to me, I do have access to a TV, although I rarely watch it.
Sorry tickingbird, but when I've heard people spouting hate towards different sections of society on several occasions, I don't want to listen as to why they are like that. I didn't call them bigots, they're just very unpleasant. And I don't want to hear them.
I watched GB news channel most of yesterday as too hot to go out!
Pleasantly surprised at the varied debates...Enjoyed angela rippon interviewing people about their lives as you may find on radio4. It's a channel for free speech with many people heading debates which I enjoyed.
eamonn holmes is a lost cause and lost the plot but so many.
Oh the snobbery on here!
Watch varied debates as Lemsip says and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by GB News.
Free speech is a wonderful thing, even the freedom to disagree with what someone is saying is good.
Interesting how Ofcom are gradually starting to hold GBNews to broadcasting standards. It has previously claimed GBNews is not a news channel but an entertainment channel hence allowing so many Tories to present shows. As we approach the next election it will be fascinating to see how much of a Tory electioneering base it will become. For me it will forever be comparable to Fox news - appealing to a certain demographic. Enjoy when you want entertainment. Just be aware of it's unerlying goals.
It may be like Fox News to you CvD66 but in reality it’s nothing like it.
Fox News is unashamedly Republican, that and nothing but.
GB News is a pic n mix of views.
Cv, not so many tories actually, very balanced wrt politics and news, certainly not at all like fox news. Very differing opinions from many different people and all are given time to speak
I do like the debates and do learn new aspects as I have an open mind. Loads of excellent presenters, Liam Halligan for one. I wish he was running the bank of England

I love listening to Liam Halligan. He explains financial matters very clearly.
I also like Aiden Mcgee who does the sports commentating.

It’s not all about Politics! The GB News schedule is very varied.
This morning they have mainly been discussing Sarah Fergusson’s recent breast cancer surgery and how it may encourage more people to get checked and also check themselves.
I'm not sure about running the Bank of England, but I'd like Liam Halligan to be running the country's housing policy. He wrote a book called "Home Truths", which probably didn't go down to well with property-owning and property developers, but suggests a number of solutions.
He was also Dominic Cummings' flatmate in Moscow and met Mikhail Gorbachev. I heard Halligan talk about life in Russia pre-Putin. He's very knowledgeable.

Let's hope it encourages GPs to take their patients more seriously. I went to my GP in August 2021 about a pain in my breast and a strange feeling, but because it didn't present as a defined lump, it wasn't until April 2022 that I was finally referred to a consultant and it was August 2022 when I had my op.
I'm another fan of this channel, in fact I tend to watch it more than the established news. It makes such a difference having people able to express their opinions without being shouted down. It also goes into current events in detail, whereas the BBC tends to concentrate on one or two items.

Absolutely this…… a refreshing change….
I'm still watching it - I don't always agree with the views put forward, but it's good to hear differing points of view. I also listen/watch Talk TV/Radio sometimes - or Rant TV as I refer to it. Gosh, do folk get wound up about stuff. Entertaining still. Makes watching the mainstream news channels rather dull.
I forgot to say the wonderful Lady Colin Campbell is often on there as a guest and she is hilarious and certainly doesn’t mince her words about Harry and Meghan for example. She just says it!!
They regularly have Meghan’s father Thomas Markle on there too and he seems a really nice old boy who is still open to meeting Meghan, Harry and their children despite Meghan showing no interest or support in his health or indeed his life.
GB News gets the guest on that other channels don’t and they get answers to questions that other channels daren’t touch.
