Who’s next?

growstuff Wed 06-Jul-22 13:49:55

fordk4 Why do you think that the Labour Party doesn't care about the British public?

Nicolenet Wed 06-Jul-22 13:55:46

What does that mean?

Allsorts Wed 06-Jul-22 14:01:19

Boris is shameless. I positively dislike the selfish liar.

Iam64 Wed 06-Jul-22 14:03:30

Chris Pincher is a sexual predator with a drink problem. He abused the power his position gave him. It’s recognised by Courts, Police, anyone involved in the investigation of sexual offences thst many victims find it difficult to make a complaint. A number of men were courageous enough to complain though not to support formal investigation
That’s what happens in many cases. It doesn’t mean the allegations are untrue.

This is predatory sexual offending. Call it that. Don’t insult the victims by calling it groping. And because in one workplace the men hrloed the women avoid a man who behaved inappropriately, do not blame the victims here

sandelf, So we are to understand that you are quite happy for people to be sexually harrassed at work, out of work, where ever they are that another person can attack them. Have them scared and frightenedto come to work

Chris Pincher is in the news, because he is a sex pest who knows no boundaries, he cornered young interns in his officce, a fellow MP couldn't even have a chat with him without attempts to finger him.

But of course, you find this all perfectly acceptable. Just avoid the person and all will be well.

I had just such a fellow employee in one of my first jobs. I was warned about him on my first day at work. Thats all right then. Well, you may think so but I and the other women working for the company did not. We were paid to come in and do a good jobof work. You cannot do this if you have constantly to be keeping an eye out for one member of staff, take long detours around the building to avoid him.

And why the hell should we?

What's your attitude to rape, if the victim happens to know their assailant. presumably they should just accept it for being anywhere near him when they knew what he was like

Well that's alright then!

Pippa22 Wed 06-Jul-22 14:23:10

Sandelf, are you seriously saying that the behaviour you have described is OK and easily dealt with by never being alone with the predator. The fact that the men you worked with were aware and protective does not make it ok in fact it almost makes it worse that they did nothing to tackle the beast.
Your attitude is that this will happen and just has to be accepted.
It definitely doesn’t.

bobbydog24 Wed 06-Jul-22 14:26:10

‘Rip it up and start again’ comes to mind. The whole Conservative party stinks of corruption, sleaze and lying. They are all in it for themselves, we don’t matter a jot.
Boris won’t go, he’ll have to be dragged screaming out of number 10 with all his so called supporters turning their backs on him. There is not one of them a suitable PM, so where does that leave us. To hell on a handcart.

The parallels with Trump grow by the hour.

MissAdventure Wed 06-Jul-22 14:34:43

21 resignations in 24 hours.

Heaven knows what will happen to our economy now. Rishi Sunak is an extremely well qualified, clever and experienced man, and a very capable Chancellor. His replacement Nadhim Zahawi is none of these things.

Really? I think Sunak would take us straight back to austerity and destroy the economy to an even greater degree than the Conservatives have done over the last 12 years. What did you think he would do?

I will wait to see what Nadhim Zahawi does. I don't hold out great hope for the length of term he has in office.

Some good one liners from Starmer at pmqs. Eg isn’t this the first recorded case of the sinking ships fleeing the rat…

And about those mps who still, support Boris “ the charge of the lightweight brigade “

RichmondPark Wed 06-Jul-22 15:39:51

At least it's not boring with old Boris in charge.

Yes it is. Uturn after Uturn. Lie after lie. Broken promise after broken promise. One sex scandal after another. Jobs, honours and contracts for one friend, donor or MP after another.

Very, very boring.

Grandmabatty Wed 06-Jul-22 15:52:08

Now up to 30 resignations. Even slithering Gove has gone

Ro60 Wed 06-Jul-22 15:58:22

Gove! Must catch up on the news. Not surprised but sooner than expected.

spabbygirl Wed 06-Jul-22 16:00:30

boris and his pals tricked and manoevered us to vote for him, remember the bus? Someone said to be he wouldn't be allowed to write that if it wasn't true, well, he didn't anyway & taxes have been increased to pay for the NHS but cos they have privatised various dept's they spend more cos as they're run by private companies who have shareholders who expect a profit it has cost more. They can use the NHS logo, so its not immediately obvious. I can't see any good that he's done, but we don't have to get rid of him, but all tories. They have accepted large donations and those companies will want value for money, more big contracts for private companies paid for by our taxes

Anyone watching Johnson in front of the select committee?

Yes, toe curling I am trying to resist hurling something at the TV ?

Grandmabatty Wed 06-Jul-22 16:09:08

My apologies. I misread something about Gove on twitter.

At first I didn't pay much attention to Boris Johnson because he's not in my realm. As time went on, I wondered what the heck? What is with his hair? He always looks so rumpled and breathless. I'm sorry he didn't work out and do a good job. We are suffering quite a bit over here for lack of a good leader. It's possible Biden will turn out to be worse than Jimmy Carter. That's hard to wrap my head around. At least Jimmy Carter was a nice guy.

FarNorth Wed 06-Jul-22 16:15:56

Johnson's look is supposed to be a lovable rascal, I think .
He's actually a self-centred jerk.

Ah but how happy you must be to have got rid of Trump.

We are still stuck with our pound shop Trump.

Grandmabatty Wed 06-Jul-22 16:18:02

whitewavemark I doubt that particular poster is happy at the loss of Trump.

LauraNorderr Wed 06-Jul-22 16:22:06

Very glad to see you Whitewave, I was beginning to worry after your brush with covid.
Yes I’m watching BJ in front of the select committee. Can’t believe I’m missing the tennis but am fascinated by the squirming.
