It's official - it's not transphobic to recognise the reality of biological sex in humans

Another dreadful aspect of that DiamondLily is that the young girl can't even change her own menstrual sanitary wear and has to rely on her carers to do that for her. How can it possibly be right, that the safety and dignity of a physically and mentally handicapped girl, is overridden by the wishes of a biological male? Why are his rights more important and enshrined in law than hers?

They shouldn't be. She cannot help her disability, and she should receive the help and support that she needs, not just have to adhere to a tick-box culture.?

I was watching Andrew Doyle last night on his show Free Speech Nation.
He started by saying: let’s go back 15 years and someone will tell you this is going to happen ( all the crap we’re talking about here)
He went into the most detailed monologue of all the things that have been written and said Re what we can’t say/do.
Then came the kicker: he said: this has happened in just 15 years imagine what could happen in the next 15.

Why are his rights more important and enshrined in law than hers?

His 'rights' in this instance are not enshrined in law - exactly the opposite.
But the school has chosen to override the rights of its female pupils.

Thanks for that MerylStreep, as you say, all achieved in 15 years. But I'm ever so slightly more optimistic than I was; these conversations are becoming more open and frequent, despite warnings that even having a conversation about trans issues is harmful. People do seem to be waking up to what's at stake.

Here is an update on Julie Bindel's legal challenge to Nottingham City Council which cancelled her booking in one of its libraries, for a talk about prevention of violence against women.
The reason given by the Council was that they disagree with JB's views on women's rights.

My lawyers have sent a Letter Before Action, requesting a response by 21st July 2022. The money raised has been used to pay the costs of my solicitor and barristers in helping to craft the substantive document. It’s worrying isn’t it, when all authorities seem to be falling over themselves to say transwomen are women. They’re not, they’re men. I’m sorry that some people feel they were born in the wrong body, and am perfectly happy for them to wear clothing designed for the opposite sex, but they're not women, whatever anyone says. And consequently they should not be in female prisons or on female wards in hospitals. Or any other spaces that are exclusively for women. But we’re up against a huge problem when all authorities appear to pander to the idea that transwomen should be in female spaces, and people such as J.K Rowling and the lady in the link (sorry, forgot her name) are being cancelled.

I agree with Chewbacca that there is progress in the right direction. Court cases are finding in favour of sense, and organisations are sacking off Stonewall. I don't think we can be complacent yet, but there are signs that Labour politicians are realising that they will lose votes if they continue to pander to the TRAs, although the Greens, Lib Dems and SNP seem fairly entrenched. It's still baby steps, but I think they are happening.

It is legal for a hospital to say that and to run their female wards on that basis. However, women patients can do nothing about it if the hospital policy is to allow transwomen in female wards.

To establish a separate or single-sex service, you must show that you meet at least one of a number of statutory conditions (set out in this section of the guide) and that limiting the service on the basis of sex is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim. For example, a legitimate aim could be for reasons of privacy, decency, to prevent trauma or to ensure health and safety. You must then be able to show that your action is a proportionate way of achieving that aim.

It is also legal for an individual to state their opinion that transwomen should not be in female wards etc.
Similar opinions, as tweets, were the reason for Maya Forstater's contract being terminated however the Employment Tribunal found that she was discriminated against because it is legal to state such opinions.
It is not, of course, legal to harass any individual transwoman.
