Did anyone else see the banana flipping the bird at Johnson protesters?
Her public middle finger salute to the electorate shows how far down the barrel Johnson has descended to scrape that one into his cabinet.
Does the Tory party seriously expect us to be governed by this parcel of incompetents Boris has thrust upon us?

I don't recall having seen any pictures of the refurbished Downing St flat. Have any been published?

I just don't like what I've seen of Lytle's work.

Though that wallpaper isn't too awful, Esspee

No inside pics have been published. What everyone has seen is a photo from Lyttle's previous work. I thought it hideous, quite migraine-inducing.

Calling the people who don't support her hero BoJo "baying mob" doesn't excuse her gesture. She should show some decorum.

And she is surely used to such behaviour because it happens regularly in Parliament at Prime Ministers Question Time and members on her side of the House are often the worst offenders.

I hope the new PM sacks the whole of BoJo's Cabinet as the country needs a fresh start.

MissAdventure Mon 11-Jul-22 12:51:12

It really doesnt matter who she was directing the gesture at, does it?

It's the fact that she thinks it's in any way appropriate.

I don't understand why everything is being blamed on Brexit and in turn blamed on the Government. The lies and the parties yes but not Brexit. The country voted to leave the people voted to leave not the Government. They may well have cocked up the Terms but it was not their idea to leave. I'm no Boris supporter after the lies and the parties, but it's no point blaming the Government for they just didcwhat the people voted for. The fact that those people were wrong is their fault not the Government.

Alioop Mon 11-Jul-22 12:44:04

What a cheeky madam ?

MaggsMcG Mon 11-Jul-22 12:42:25

Whilst I too think it was an inappropriate thing to do. She was not directing it to the electorate but at the press that were being very inappropriate themselves. As usual.

HousePlantQueen Mon 11-Jul-22 12:39:15

From what I have read, what she describes as a 'baying mob' was people interested in what was going on, and many were holding photos of family who had died, alone, during the covid19 pandemic. Hardly threatening. As for Peter Bone, he is always trotted out on our local version of Sunday Politics ( he covers Northants I believe) and the crap stuff he comes out with is laughable. Apparently, not one voter in his constituency was concerned about the parties at No10, they all support Johnson, they all crave Brexit in full. When a politician comes out with such obvious nonsense, they lose any credibility. The interviewers have to try hard not to laugh at him.

Actuly quite shocking and, as I don't expect much from this shower of self serving, arrogant, morons, it takes a lot to shock me.

Just seen the video of Jenkins entering Downing Street and gesturing to the public.

THAT IS DISGRACEFUL

Sorry but every time I hear that word it conjures up images of Liz Truss’ cheese rant- so cringy. One reason I could never see her as PM.
As for the Education Minister-what a great example for school/college students but typical of Boris contingent

sandwichgeneration Mon 11-Jul-22 11:43:45

Johnson can't find any good people as anyone with anything about them will have resigned. In addition, if he puts the worst people in jobs, his successor will have an even harder task on their hands. That's what he wants. Always self with no thought for the country he has been destroying.

Cheryl1959 Mon 11-Jul-22 11:41:01

Sadly her excuse was a knee jerk reaction to situation, however she upholds a senior position in government in Education- NOT a good role model !!

Grantanow Mon 11-Jul-22 11:34:58

Disgraceful but what can you expect from Tory barrel scrapings? Especially when scraped by Johnson. He does seem to try to get women into jobs though if today's press is accurate!

Philippa111 Mon 11-Jul-22 11:18:02

It's a total mess and until this set of muppets is out there won't really be any change. Even when Boris is finally pick-axed out of Downing Street, there is just another bunch of lesser Gods, one of which is waiting to feel the glorious satisfaction of success in their personal achievement at becoming 'The One'. Nothing ,of course, to do with the people they will, supposedly, be serving!

spabbygirl Mon 11-Jul-22 11:14:40

disgraceful, she is in charge of schools too, all the Tories should be voted out so we can get some decent folk in charge but they know if they agree to a general election they'll be out. Its disgusting that we should have these people forced on us

Ailidh Sun 10-Jul-22 16:56:02

I love the corrections on her composition.

spabbygirl Sun 10-Jul-22 16:50:20

what a loathsome woman, the sooner we get all the tories out the better

MawtheMerrier Sun 10-Jul-22 16:43:00

A warning to Education ministers and those who aspire thereto.

This is how far standards have dropped under the current government. Can you imagine Thatcher or Heseltine behaving in such a way.

I wouldn’t hold Heseltine up as a paragon of good behaviour following his mace swinging antics….

growstuff Sun 10-Jul-22 16:00:58

Apologies! Apparently he was participating in a fund-raiser.

growstuff Sun 10-Jul-22 15:58:02

This is Brendan Clarke Smith, the other newly appointed junior education minister. He was mocking NHS staff who were asking people to wear a mask. He really was once a teacher. Both of them will be in a department headed by James Cleverly. What could possibly go wrong? hmm

Whitewavemark2 Sun 10-Jul-22 15:48:31

Oh thanks, I just read that she was a teacher.

growstuff Sun 10-Jul-22 15:47:24

Whitewavemark2

She was a teacher at one time??

Pupils had a lucky escape

I don't think she was ever a classroom teacher, but a peripatetic music tutor, teaching pupils one-to-one. They don't have to be qualified, either in music or education. It's nothing like facing five or six classes of 30+ every day.

That was the point I was making in my last post Riverwalk. She's an education minister, for goodness' sake.

Riverwalk Sun 10-Jul-22 14:34:17

I doubt if anyone in that crowd had any idea who she was, so any abuse was not directed at her personally - she's was a complete unknown.

She stuck her finger up on the way in, and shouted at them on the way out! So not on the spur of the moment action - could have gone out the rear exit if she felt intimidated.

Imagine the Daily Mail headline if a teacher did that.
