I’m pleased about that because the downfall will come much sooner, even her own fellow MPs aren’t keen on her, let alone the electorate. Has there ever been a leadership election before where the distant third choice became PM?

Based on Truss's performance at debates recently, I think she realises she would be way out of her depth. Of course that suits the ERG who think they could control her. I don't think it matters as none of them have the ability to be a good PM

We have no chance of a ‘new start’ until we have a Labour Government.
At least with Sunak as PM, we won’t have a complete muppet in charge of the country

I feel a little like this too, however it is not our choice that matters in this regard.
A new PM is a must though and there will soon be one.

You absolutely do not know where you are with Sunak.
He is surprisingly unpopular with a number of MPs, who are beginning to realise belatedly that loyalty does count for something.
I am sorry Kemi Badenoch has gone, although she is not in any way capable of being Prime Minister. Yet.

Rishi is a good, hard working local MP. He is definitely the best of the remaining bunch and as PM won’t make the country an even bigger laughing stock than it was with Boris as leader. Roll on a general election and a change of govt.

I am pleased Kemi has gone because I read she thought pensioners were fairly well-heeled and she intended to tax us.

I do not like Rishi Sunak but he will not be spending his time lying about everything and making us the laughing stock of the world.

None of them will be any good as PM - Sunak will be on top of his brief but is disliked by many in his party and Parliament; Mordaunt and Truss are just not serious PM material.

Listening to the various commentators it's obvious that a lot of Machiavellian antics have been at play with the various votes

There will be further ructions amongst the lot of them before the next GE.

I’m not a Raab fan Bea65, but I don’t understand what it is that you think he should be doing exactly? I’d imagine he is doing his usual role, and trying to tie up loose ends before he loses the remit when the new leader appoints a cabinet.
