That's all really. The News is all about the awful fires in London.

Sunak is now only one vote away from the point where he is guaranteed a slot on the final ballot. Previously 120 (just over a third of the total electorate, 357 MPs) was the point where it became mathematically impossible for both other candidates to get more votes, but, with Tobias Ellwood now banned from taking part, 119 is the benchmark. Sunak is on 118. It is almost impossible to believe he will not get there tomorrow. But he has been finding it increasingly hard to pick up votes. In the second ballot he was up 13 votes, and in the third he was up 14 votes. Today he is up just three. (The Guardian)

Zonne

I’m pleased to see that all those who relied on pure culture war nonsense have gone.

Can you explain please?

She's just deleted her tweet saying that she was "ready to hit the ground from day one"

What is this sari thing that is so important to you Annaram1?

I'd have a Klingon in preference to Johnson.

By the way, he might be PM, not king.

Oh, it's gone.

fishi rishi, I heard that he has been manipulated by fil and that he loves the china government. I don`t trust him at all.

I think it is just possible that the (new) poster with the name Annaram1 has a bridal makeup salon which also does sari draping (presumably for the same brides) in a place called Annaram. That would account for the post being deleted. I didn't see it (too busy eating) but that it what appeared top of the list after a bit of Googling.

Not too useful to grannies in the UK.

Where did you hear that, Karmalady ?

Can you imagine the plotting and dealing that is going on now as the final two try to get over the winning line? All the job promises....I am glad though that Femi is out, she has a very shaky relationship with the truth, and frankly, we have had enough of liars in office. Sunak is a snake, but is unlikely to blunder about the world stage making a complete arse of himself, Truss is completely unsuited for high office. Not so long ago, I pondered why a country the size of the USA was left with a choice of Trump or Biden, now here we are, but we haven't even got the choice. Did everyone see Theresa May's reaction to the baying supporters as Johnson left his final PMQs today?

Annaram is a town in India.

My old neighbour used to wear a sari, in fact she was wearing one the first time I met her. I wanted one.
Then I realised she just wore it for work and usually wore trousers and a top, so disappointing.

A search shows Annaram1 has been a poster for some years.

I meant all those who appeared to have no policies that were as important to them as creating - or rather continuing to create - conflicting notions of national identity and values, and fostering polarisation.

I do not mean that Sunak and Truss won’t do that, but that they at least focussed slightly more on other issues.

Zonne Thu 21-Jul-22 21:55:31

That was meant to be a reply to Namsnanny.

And to think that, back then, many of us thought of Theresa May as being the best of a bad bunch. Look how far the party has sunk since then. Anna Soubry currently telling it like it is on Sky News.
