"Callistemon21 - With tidy hair!!"

Yes, well maybe we are all looking for too much just yet taking into account where we have just come from. Maybe the issue should be settled for the time being on simply having someone who can manage to comb their own hair every day.

It shouldn't matter, should it, but somehow first impressions seem to be important.
Does an untidy appearance mean an untidy mind?

I just find it depressing that the only two now in the running for PM were both in Johnson's Cabinet.

Dickens .”it was nadine dories who criticised Sunak abut his expensive suit.but I agree how irrelevant and petty it was. To be honest most of us looking at sunak should just see a bloke in a good suit and shoes, and what would you expect ? Should he pop to m and s ?

... oops! thanks Lucca - good to know when one gets things wrong.

Actually, coming from Dorries, that kind of makes sense - she does come out with some daft things. So I apologise to Truss... though she'll neither know nor care!

I didn't examine Sunak's clothes, either, he just looks smart so nothing to comment on. And I'm more interested in what he might be planning to do regarding the NHS, social care, energy prices etc.

Yes, let's have a crap, the crapper the better, Tory leader to give Keir a chance of winning the next General Election!

I think Johnson does comb (or brush) his hair every day - it's just that his comb and his hair are at permanent loggerheads.

I'm inclined to believe that he showers, washes his hair at the at the same time and then uses a hair dryer... my partner does that and looks similar to Johnson as the day wears on... Johnson's not the picture of sartorial elegance, but he does look clean. Anyway, I don't care about his appearance, just his politics.

There is another televised debate tonight at 6pm on talk tv if anyone is interested.
I did not like to see Rishi Sunak trying to talk over Liz Truss, but did think his was the better performance.
I think Liz Truss will be chose by the members though.

I can empathise as mine is the same grin

Callistemon21, my youngest DGD thinks that Boris has Harry Potter hair. ??

I thought you had a more extensive vocabulary than to use a word like that volver.

Can we call her a bollard then?

volver Tue 26-Jul-22 12:55:32

It's a funny old world. If I'd been in parliament I could have called her anything I like and used Parliamentary privilege.

So. How shall we describe a Foreign Secretary who doesn't know what bits of Russia and Ukraine they are fighting over, supports UK nationals who want to fight illegally in a war, cuts new trade deals that are worse that the ones we had before and gets lost in a room with one door?

How shall we describe her? Any suggestions?

volver Tue 26-Jul-22 12:57:26

Oh wait - I know.

"Prime Minister"!!

LauraNorderr Tue 26-Jul-22 12:57:51

Ffs GNHQ, we are grown women who disagreed over the use of a word. Wow, just wow.

The country and the Tories are well on the way to hell in a handcart. And Starmer needs to get a grip.

MaizieD Tue 26-Jul-22 13:23:54

Oh, FGS, Gransnet. What's wrong with calling a spade a spade?

Perhaps you'd better give us a list of words that don't upset the pearl clutchers...

Perhaps he's just watching the disaster unfold

Prentice Tue 26-Jul-22 13:33:48

Ah, I see that Gransnet does not like that word either.
Posters may see this as heavyhanded, but certain words should not be used, are we not better than that nowadays?
How will we ever change if the insulting words of the past are encouraged or at least not challenged. So many other words to be used if you do not like a politician, or anyone else come to that.

Dickens this is what I believe too.
You should see my hair at all times, even when just brushed!
