I never thought I could be so affected by the death of the Queen not ashamed to say I've shed quite a few tears especially seeing the most recent photographs of her. I think we are all going to miss her smiling face

I phoned my mum just before...she's 86....i expected her to be sad...but she was devastated...like proper crying....I will go visit her this weekend...I feel a bit sad though too... I had a lot of respect for her

I never had any grandparent, they had all died before I was born and the queen represented everything that my grandmother might have been. I am so very sad.

RIP to a very wonderful person

I am saddened, though it was inevitable. A momentous day.

She did her job well - not a job that she chose, but she picked it up and did it seriously and diligently. She had a long life and died peacefully with only a short final illness, so we must be thankful for that.

First and foremost a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother has died, and a family is grieving. The Queen was a dedicated woman who kept the promise made at her succession to serve for the whole of her life. God bless, RIP Queen Elizabeth II

Maddyone my heart goes out to you for the loss of your mother. It's so difficult.

She died in the place she loved with her family . She also died with a sound mind and hopefully peacefully with no heroics to try and prolong her life . She deserved that for someone who gave so much to this country. Although I don't have much interest or admiration for most of the Royal Family, I did think she did a good job.

Since the announcement earlier today about her health I've just been feeling so sorry that her last few years have been blighted by the situation in the UK and the problems within her own family. I have no doubt that she will at last, be at peace.

I knew I would feel sad, but I feel really upset, can’t believe she’s gone, she’s been there all my life.

I feel the same. I'm not a massive fan of the monarchy but that final picture of her carrying out her duty to the very end just gets to me. I've also shed tears.
