It sounds worrying, doesn’t it?

Grannydarkhair Thank you so much for posting that link to Theresa May's speech. It was excellent .... she did well.

Just saw part of the tribute by Theresa May about the Queen ... so funny ... we need to see all aspects of her life ... grief is different for everyone ... if you want to cry ... cry ... if you want to laugh ... laugh ... happy, funny or sad whatever the memory, means so much to different people ... each one a lasting memory ... RIP your Majesty now reunited with her beloved Philip ... God bless

Yes thank you Grannydarkhair we've just watched it and it was brilliant, the best by far.

I didn’t realise Theresa May had such great comic timing.

She should be a guest host on HIGNFY!

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 10-Sept-22 09:24:29

She was very surprising wasn’t she! And lightened the atmosphere.

honeyrose Sat 10-Sept-22 09:24:42

Sorry if anyone has already quoted this, as I haven’t read all the contributions on this thread, but a lady on BBC, a member of the public, just said “the Queen was stable in an unstable world”. I thought that summed the Queen up perfectly!

Just popping up from behind the sofa to say I felt Theresa May was brutally treated by many in her own part. I always thought she was decent, hard working an honest. It’s good to see her confident again

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 10-Sept-22 09:58:52

I agree Iam.

Aveline Sat 10-Sept-22 10:15:20

I'm a Theresa fan too.

You could tell she hated him by the way she has attacked Johnson in parliament during his PM’ship. I’m glad her speech upstaged his. It was very good. I’m fascinated watching tv just now to see which members of the Privy Council are chatting to.

This is Theresa May’s tribute to the Queen, and is imo, the best of all the tributes given by MPs, etc.

thanks for posting that as it didn't show yesterday as there was a blip in the broadcast smile

Yes Johnson in conversation with Brown.

You could get more disparate characters.

Brown, - honest, charitable, patriotic, hard working with the country and its peoples firmly at his heart.

Johnson - not.

icanhandthemback Sat 10-Sept-22 11:10:44

In the sombre mood of the ceremony this morning, I couldn't help but giggle at Charles pocketing 2 pens!

Aveline Sat 10-Sept-22 11:11:05

I've never seen Brown so animated. Him and Theresa would have made a good front bench in a govt of national unity. Ah well.

Daddima Sat 10-Sept-22 11:12:32

Aveline

She may not have been 'terminally ill'. I reckon she's been having mini strokes hence last minute cancellations from time to time. Then a major stroke carried her off peacefully. I've seen that happen so often.

Lady Colin Campbell has been saying for a while that the Queen’s illness was more serious than we were being told ( and I see no reason why we should be told, incidentally), but yesterday she said that she had been suffering from bone cancer.
I know a lot of people scoff at her, but she does seem to be ‘ in the know’.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 10-Sept-22 11:16:26

Isn’t bone cancer a secondary cancer?

Calendargirl Sat 10-Sept-22 11:22:21

I’ve heard bone cancer as well.

We shall never know I expect.

MayBee70 Sat 10-Sept-22 11:52:41

When I saw the photo of her on Tuesday I said to DH ‘we won’t be seeing her again’. But I never expected her death to come so soon. Her devotion to duty humbles and astounds me. I’m so glad that she spent her remaining days at Balmoral.

Mamie Sat 10-Sept-22 12:18:18

The Mairie in our village, I believe like all the Mairies in France, has the flags (including the Union Jack) furled with black ribbon. Very moving.

Jaberwok Sat 10-Sept-22 12:25:36

Bone Cancer often is a secondary cancer but not necessarily. It can be a primary source particularly in children and the elderly.

Methinks if you look more carefully at the footage, he was the only one to sign with his own ? which he promptly replaced in his inner right breast pocket...

Nasturtiums being cast already?

Aveline Sat 10-Sept-22 12:44:13

Why would anyone listen to Lady Colin Campbell?!
The moderator of the Church of Scotland stayed at Balmoral last weekend and said what good form she was in. He had dinner with her and lunch on Sunday. It was nice to hear that she'd been cheerful and entertaining until almost the end.
Very old people are frequently very thin. Lack of energy leads to lack of exercise and muscle wasting.

JaneJudge Sat 10-Sept-22 12:45:39

She hasn't really been well since she had covid, like lots of people I suppose.
