Let’s hope that won’t upset anybody. It’s a Saturday, so no bank holiday, and it doesn’t clash with the FA cup final.

So no bank holiday. Just your average Saturday.

It will be very interesting to compare it with the last one, for those of us (like me) who remember it.

May 2023 the eyes of the world will be on the U.K. , Coronation in London one weekend, Eurovision starting in Liverpool on the following Tuesday.

Apparently it’s up to the government to decide if it’s to be a bank holiday or not.

The only thing it clashes with is Archie’s 4th birthday.

It’ll be Tony Blair’s 70th birthday!
(I only know this because he shares his birthday with my husband and is a year younger).

Because a significant number of people will want to celebrate the Coronation incorporating an extra day will make it more of an occasion, after all it hasn’t happened for 70yrs.

There are of course those who don’t want participate, they are quite free to ignore it and do other things.

We will have to re-convene our village jubilee committee, which will become the coronation committee to plan our celebrations. Maybe a bring and share in the village hall or a posh afternoon tea. It would be interesting to find out how our village celebrated in 1953. At least we can record TV for the day while we have our own celebrations.

Saturday 6th May 2023 is also World Naked Gardening Day.
