They should just leave them to it. Section it off, no cameras. Fortunately the painting is behind glass so won't have been damaged.

Disgraceful ... good job they have nothing better to do ... until they are made to pay every penny back ... cleaning up ... cost of policing etc will continue ... hope their families are proud of them NOT ...

Perhaps our police should adopt the French gendarmerie’s attitude to protesters who glue themselves to surfaces, they just pull them off, which I imagine is extremely painful?

Well, I wouldn’t go that far??, they would definitely be grounded for a good while.

The painting will be cleaned with little problem, so it may be they knew that but have got the publicity they crave.

Leave them glued to the floor, that’s where they want to be. No food, water or anything else.
