If you didn't laugh, you'd cry. ☹️

She’s going to throw her hat into the ring isn’t she.

if she gets chosen god help us!

Grannybags Wed 19-Oct-22 16:39:52

Never a dull moment!

Whitewavemark2 Wed 19-Oct-22 16:40:26

Oh security?

volver Wed 19-Oct-22 16:42:09

Chris Mason on BBC: My understanding is Suella Braverman's resignation was not over a disagreement about government policy, but instead what was described to me as an honest mistake on the part of the now former home secretary.

What was that then, she thought she was capable but that's a mistake?

Zoejory Wed 19-Oct-22 16:43:02

How surprising !

GrannyGravy13 Wed 19-Oct-22 16:45:12

Maybe her tofu eating wokery remark wasn’t acceptable

Well, the Guardian link says it is at the behest of the Chancellor (the new/current one? who knows what has happened in the last 5 minutes) because she was so vocal in criticising the U turn on the financial measures announced by the previous chancellor. Grant Shapps will replace her. It is suggested that she is trying to move her cabinet from a coterie of yes men and women and Truss supporters to a one representative of the wider Conservative party. Bit too late me thinks.

she = Liz Truss, not the cat's mother.

Four Home Secretaries in four years.
Four Chancellors in twelve months.
Four Prime Ministers in six years.

Awkward.

It’s something to do with phones

Mamie Wed 19-Oct-22 16:51:07

Sacked, security issue, breach of ministerial code.

FannyCornforth Wed 19-Oct-22 16:51:36

And information

westendgirl Wed 19-Oct-22 17:00:41

Just as an aside Braverman was one of the Tory M.Ps who voted against buffer zones around reproductive Health Clinics, as was Badenoch. So much for standing up for women.

Cruella won’t be missed but Grant Shapps was useless before and a minor swindler in a previous life, so maybe will fit right in.

Larry the cat is understood to have departed as UK mouser after Liz Truss cleared her diary and called off a planned visit amid desperate attempts to save her premiership.

No 10 denied that Larry had been sacked but did not respond to requests for clarification about the nature of his departure.

Her resignation letter certainly is a clear attack on Truss.

"The business of government relies upon people accepting responsibility for their mistakes.

"Pretending we haven't made mistakes, carrying on as if everyone can't see that we have made them, and hoping that things will magically come right is not serious politics. I have made a mistake; I accept responsibility; I resign.

Ouch!

Home sec resignation letter

Casdon Wed 19-Oct-22 17:09:16

It sounds like an excuse to go, doesn’t it?

I was going to ask where Larry was - he's been remarkably quiet lately.

Blink and you miss something these days.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 19-Oct-22 17:15:13

Urgent question to be raised by Labour.

MayBee70 Wed 19-Oct-22 17:18:37

In the words of Ron Weasley ‘bloody hell’. There I was watching parliament today, turn to Sky News and another one’s gone. Blink and you miss it.

Have you not seen the recent video of him chasing a fox out of Downing Street, Cal? He's a feisty cat.

Perhaps it will be Truss next...
