Excellent video, and all true.

It is certainly true because it is a report of what happened today in the HoC.

But what is the OP saying?

That Keir Starmer was highlighting the truth of our countriy's perilous situation or that ou "PM" was telling the truth?

MissAdventure Wed 19-Oct-22 18:43:10

I just liked the "gone, gone, gone!" part, frankly.

Urmstongran Wed 19-Oct-22 18:46:14

It was as if the panto season had started early!

Chancellor gone. Home Secretary gone.

How many more cabinet ministers have to go before the PM is gone?

MissAdventure Wed 19-Oct-22 19:10:46

Do you think she will go, varian?

Riverwalk Wed 19-Oct-22 19:18:08

Chief Whip has just gone!

MissAdventure Wed 19-Oct-22 19:19:12

GONE!!

I don't know.

Liz Truss appears to have the hide of a rhinocerous.

I think until recently she never believed in anything. She had no political principles. All she was focused on was self promotion.

From what I have heard, her parents were very left wing and took her on CND marches.

Her teenage rebellion was to gravitate towards the LibDems but she soon realised that joining the Conservative Party was a much easier route into parliament.

She supported Remain in the EU referendum because she thought the Remain side would win, but when it didn't she quickly transferred to the Leave side who could help her career trajectory.

At this point I am not sure what happened. Either she just became an enthusiastic Leaver because they had won (whether or not she believed it) or she actually became brainwashed by the puppet-masters in Tufton Street and actually believes this nonsense,.

Thank you smile
I didn't know any of that.

All I know is that I loathe the woman.

She is like a life lifesized cardboard cut out of a real person.

I thought the BBC's Nick Eardley summed up Liz Truss's position very well when he said "She's hanging on a shoogly peg"

A perfect description. I found it hard to believe when she was getting ahead in the leadership contest. Then it was down to two...and she was set to win! Unbelievable, and with all those more worthy candidates. Even Rishi would have been so much better. I was totally speechless when she won, and predicted utter disaster ahead, how could it be anything else? And how could a country like the UK end up with leader like that?

She is hanging on for Nov 6th, completing her 60 days, making her eligible for a £120.000 pa pension for life.

‘A week is a long time in politics’ Harold Wilson.
I don’t think she’ll make Nov 6th, if today’s antics are anything to go by.

Urmstongran Thu 20-Oct-22 08:19:45

I think the MP’s did some horse trading when it came to finagling those last 2 candidates. They SO wanted Sunak that they managed to present their membership with a dud (in the hope they’d choose Sunak). What a mess! The membership hate Sunak for stabbing Boris so they chose Truss. I think the Tories are a busted flush.

HurdyGurdy Thu 20-Oct-22 08:23:16

It was a joke when I first saw this, but maybe not so far fetched after all

HurdyGurdy Thu 20-Oct-22 08:24:53

Sorry, doesn't look like the image attached to my post.

Sparklefizz Thu 20-Oct-22 08:37:32

Today they are saying she has 12 hours!

I love this one.
What will last longer: Liz Truss or the lettuce

I love the Lettuce Liz analogy - I look forward to its fruition.

Growing0ldDisgracefully Fri 21-Oct-22 11:21:54

The lettuce won. I wonder what cabbage we'll get in her place?

Coconut Fri 21-Oct-22 11:51:08

Joking aside this is global humiliation for us all and will have far reaching affects, who will want to trade with the Uk when we are in this embarrassing fiasco. It can only get worse if the last pantomime dame wants his trotters back in the trough, could it get any worse ?

sazz1 Fri 21-Oct-22 11:53:49

I'm hoping Boris comes back. He did a lot of good for people during the pandemic providing money for furlough, self employed, small businesses, Universal Credit, stopped evictions, etc. All those MPs enjoyed his parties then turned on him when they were caught. Too soft a boss but a lot better than the state we're in now. The party was united under him until partygate apart from one or two eg Cummings. Now they are a real mess with interest rates up, the pound fell against the dollar, people can't afford bills, strikes etc. If anyone can sort it out it's Boris. I'm not alone thinking this as the majority of the public want Boris back but maybe not the majority of MPs.
Kier isn't liked and friends of mine won't vote Labour because of him even though they always have before.

Callistemon21 Fri 21-Oct-22 11:55:55

Speechless!
