A Swell Idea From ASDA To Deter Shoplifters!
What colour car do you have or did you used to drive?
So sad I’ve nearly finished last Jilly Cooper
Talk about extraordinary moments in history.....
And a car. So it was said on radio 4
Anyone wishing to return Mr Johnson as the PM must have extremely short memories. Scandal after scandal. Lie after lie. Even lying to the Queen over suspending Parliament. For further reference:
1 He obtained the worst Brexit deal imaginable.
2 He did not obtain the vaccine. Scientists made the vaccine. The vaccine was given by our own NHS staff on top of their normal jobs.
3 He bought in excessive amounts of the vaccine meaning we had too much & other countries did not have enough.
4 He is still being investigated by the Privileges Committee for additional law breaking.
5 He made the rules, didn’t stick by his own rules and was fined by the Police. Remember again our sadly departed Queen. A small, hunched figure at her husband’s funeral. Her family did adhere to the rules whilst Downing St were partying till 4am that morning.
6 He resigned because in the end, nearly 60 of his own Tory MPs wrote letters of no confidence. They could simply not keep defending his atrocious behaviour day after day after day.
So return Mr Johnson as PM? I don’t think so, unless you wish to condone his immoral ways.
Her class and sex let her down
? not sure what that means?
Class?
In a word Good !
Need a good Business man running this country
Not these pantomime wannabes
I don't feel sorry for her as she was eaten up with ambition and was never up to being any sort of Minister, let alone Prime Minister.
Many who have worked with her have said she never listens to advice because she thinks she knows best. Her arrogance and that of her 1st Chancellor have landed them where they belong - back on the back benches.
IMHO those who feel sorry for her should instead feel sorry for those who were hoping to get on the housing ladder who may now not be able to afford a mortgage.
Shameful!
Anyone considering bringing that numptie back must themselves be a numptie
Truss was one of the most boring, insensitive and self serving PMs we have ever had - good riddance. But Boris? Really?

Yes and with a huge pay packet!!
Former PMs don’t get pay or a pension. What they can do is claim up to £115,000 for their ‘expenses in carrying out public duties’.
Coincidentally, previous PMs claimed almost exactly that amount ( apart from Theresa May, who is still an MP, and claimed a mere £57,000)I heard on the radio a couple of days ago that as long as an exPM has served at least 60 days they can claim a lifelong pension of £150,000 a year for life! Surely that can’t be right? Think I need to do some research.
It's not a pension, it's an expenses allowance. Apparently some ex PMs claim it, some don't.
There's a thread about it on here.

I can think of only one advantage.
We, the taxpayer, wouldn't have to fork out for redecorating No 10. Unless Liz has been busy with a wallpaper stripper.

I don’t think she had time to strip ?
I don’t know who or what The Blob is but I wish it would go away and give ordinary hardworking families a chance.
The Blob is the invention of people who don't want to take responsibility for their actions, ronib, "The Blob made me do it"
As 'The Blob' in this case was the financial markets who thought very little of her budget, I think that it's time that these right wing commentators grew up and faced reality instead of whingeing when the world does things they don't want it to do.
When you say 'hardworking families', are you referring to those bankers whose bonus cap has been removed? Or the wealthy ones who were going to have the 45p rate of tax removed? Because, apart from the energy price cap, there was practically nothing in Truss's budget for anyone else...

Just to annoy ?
Her finest moment was her last. Yes, feel a bit sorry for her, but she was idiotic, and punching above her weight. She has also done masses of damage, and that will be felt by ordinary people while she trots off into history with over £100,000 per year salary, hereafter.
Which bit of GENERAL ELECTION do these Self-servatives not get?
She and her cronies can do one, Rishi said this would happen. She always looked out of place anyway, she mist have had a strong sense of imposter syndrome as was just not cut out for the job. I'm glad she's spared us from more harm. Good riddance
I was not being racist when I said Sunak has not a drop of British blood. I was merely stating a fact. My dear late husband was Indian.
It hardly matters about British blood! What is that anyway?
Please let them pick Richie Sunak. That is the only way the Tories have even the slightest chance at the next election. That man and his family know they don’t need any more money and have reached a point where they want to do good for the rest of us. I do hope the Tories have the sense to see that. Please let them do something for the good of the country at last.

Its obviously a good thing she has gone. But Boris is my choice because he is a family man, and will understand what families want. Mordaunt has no children. Sunak is the country's richest man but has not a drop of British blood.
Does Sunak not have children?
A family man with children who have access to the best of private healthcare and education, going on holiday all over the world, staying in 5* accommodation with 24/7 security. How would Johnson know what it is like to have to choose between eating and heating, and not eating so your kids can eat??? And live in dire, damp and cold flats, with kids in huge innercity classes, etc, etc. HOW- he has not got a bleeding clue!
As for British blood- wow, that took my breath away. How much British blood as Johnson got himself- a bit. And you say that was not racist!

Boris doesn't need the money either.
Politicians are a strange breed. They aren't in it for the money. And to be blunt, I dont believe they want to do good for everyone. It's the power.
I still haven't got over my shock when Rishi informed a group of Tunbridge Wells residents that he took money from deprived urban areas in order to give it to other parts of the country. Wealthy areas.
Not a real hero.
Mordaunt has no children.
So?
I'm just gobsmacked by how prejudiced and unpleasant some people are, and they don't even know it.
Johnson is not a family man, he is a man of many families. I have no respect for any of the current Tory hierarchy, they’re all Oxbridge Grads with a single mindset and are thus totally unrepresentative of the country as a whole. They want to destroy public services and throw us to the mercy of the private sector.
Isn’t it Bonfire Night soon? Just asking…
We need a new political party. This lot a disgrace. The otge4 lit a joke. It’s depressing.
Kemi Badenoch backs Rishi Sunak, compares him to Margaret Thatcher
Why? Why do the Conservatives insist on mentioning Thatcher? Thatcher wouldn't have last 5 minutes today. The world has changed. Society (there is such a thing) has changed.

Ok, you weren't being racist. In that case, I don't understand the point of your comment. What is British blood? Do you mean blood descended from Britons, Angles, Saxons, Picts, Celts, Romans, Vikings and Normans? Would that mix be pure enough for you?
