BBC News - Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak and Penny Mordaunt: Who are MPs backing?
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-63343308

Mine hasn't declared however I sent her an email saying basically unless she wants to completely wipe out the CP she should support Sunak. None of my friends want to see BJ return and we are the ones that turn up to vote.

My Tory MP is backing Sunak.

The Tory MP where I live until I moved last month hasn't declared yet, this despite supporting the no confidence vote in Johnson. He lives just down the road from the Johnsons so he either goes back on his principles or upsets his neighbour. It will be interesting to see what he does. Nothing is my guess.

I’ve just looked at the link and my MP is supporting Penny Mordaunt which is unsurprising as they are both MPs for constituencies with Royal Navy bases. Penny Mordaunt was the first woman to become Minister for the Armed Forces and Secretary of State for Defence.

She would be my choice but I doubt her support will match Rishi Sunack’s.

Ladyleftfieldlover

I’ve just emailed my MP and asked who he is supporting.

My MP is not contactable by email, the only one in the House of Commons apparently. I moved a year ago and not once have I seen him mentioned on the local news, in the local papers or anywhere. He’s literally invisible.

suep1953 We have the same MP it seems. I've never seen him either. At election time there used to be, at least, a pamphlet put through the letterbox but at the last election there wasn't even that!

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 23-Oct-22 16:47:15

I’ve just checked and he’s backing Sunak.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 23-Oct-22 16:49:15

I should add that after I emailed my MP, the automatic response said that I should allow 2 weeks for a reply… we’ll be well on our way to hell in a hand basket by then!

Bill Cash is supporting Boris…..two for a pair as they say……

Mine, whom l don't vote for, is backing Sunak. Hopefully he will get in, surely Boris couldn't get in again.

We unfortunately have a Tory in post. She is backing Johnson. She is in the current cabinet.

Oldnproud Sun 23-Oct-22 17:33:39

Mine (Leadsom) is supporting Maudant. Not my first choice, but infinitely better than Johnson - if she had been supporting him, I think I might have exploded.

Ailidh Sun 23-Oct-22 17:45:56

Mine is supporting Sunak. Huzzah.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 23-Oct-22 17:48:39

Mine is not saying ?

Daisymae Sun 23-Oct-22 19:43:36

Mine is remaining impartial . Whatever that means.

Mine has been under investigation since April for multiple allegations of sexual harassment, taking class A drugs and corruption and nepotism involving a very dodgy Russian.

Although he has had the whip removed he could still get a say in who be omes our next PM as he is still a member of the Conservative Party.

You could not make it up.

Redrobin51 Sun 23-Oct-22 20:02:33

He is a keen Boris fan.

gangy5 Sun 23-Oct-22 20:05:40

Mine is backing Johnson. MP.s backing Johnson are thinking of saving themselves. Those backing Sunak are thinking of the ' 'Country'

Ladyripple Sun 23-Oct-22 20:42:15

Mine is backing Boris!

Alygran Sun 23-Oct-22 21:10:37

Mine is Sunak

Curlywhirly Sun 23-Oct-22 21:21:30

Johnson has quit!

25Avalon Sun 23-Oct-22 21:23:01

Boris. The current situation is what happens when the lunatics run the asylum. Tories are dead ducks in the water.

Grayling1 Sun 23-Oct-22 21:26:30

Thank goodness!!!!!!!

rubysong Sun 23-Oct-22 21:32:30

Mine is backing BJ; dreadful woman! I emailed her twice telling her to get rid of him after party gate. She wrote back saying she did not wish to be contacted about this any more. I was livid. I should be able to express my opinion to her as much as I want. I shan't be voting for her again. Just so the rest of the village knows I put the letters in the post office for everyone to see. If only I could find out who the chairman of the local Conservatives is I would be writing to him/her to try and get a better candidate.

Deedaa Sun 23-Oct-22 21:33:44

I don't know how my Tory MP will vote. He has blocked me on Facebook and refuses to read my emails. He was very rude to me when I said I was donating money to the Nowzad escape from Kabul so I told him what I thought of him and that was it.

Callistemon21 Sun 23-Oct-22 21:43:03

Mine is backing BJ; dreadful woman!

She'll have to have a rethink now! ?

Luckygirl3 Sun 23-Oct-22 22:28:37

Mine is backing Sunak.
