Can we have fireworks on other significant occasions like Diwali

One evening only for Diwali and Bonfire night- ending at midnight. And a total ban on Chinese style fireworks designed to make more noise than 'light'.

Currently, fireworks are totally deregulated, and it goes on for weeks, nah, months! A true misery for those with pets, for wildlife and birds, etc.

I’m having a blank, one of those days.!

I would certainly vote for someone like myself from the hard right but personally I have no wish for power or responsibility. Ive done more than my share for the communuity.

I think you'll make a very good Speaker Callistemon, although trying to keep order on GN might be more difficult than being PM.

Ooh. Like someone to nominate me. So here's my pitch.
My first act on appointment would be to make Larry the cat my Deputy PM. He would be purrrfect.
Next I would ban fireworks for every night except Bonfire night and New Year's Eve so no poor animals would be distressed.
I would lock up people who are cruel to animals or who are found running puppy farms.
I would make all animal and bird food VAT free.
Are you seeing a theme here?
Of course I would improve things for hoomans too. Under consultation with Larry, of course.

Sitting on the fence is often construed as being a bad thing - but maybe it's a good idea to reflect on which side you want to jump down on - if either?

I prefer that to knee-jerk reactions.
