After all they dont EVER have a good word to say about us ...and that includes their unionist "SCOTS" who it seems are delighted to tell us that we cant do anything right

Answers on a postage stamp ...or a postcard if you can find a true reason

I've been to the Co-op and I've bought a bottle of Baileys

If we’re discussing shopping, I bought Baileys Chocolate Luxe yesterday usually the £20 label means it stays on the shelf, but an incredible £12 or two for £24 was hard to resist.

does the liqueur have to be hot for the liquids to stay separate? or am I confusing it with an Irish coffee? I used to work in a pub and i remember you add to add brown sugar and the coffee had to be particularly hot when the liquor was added so the cream would stay separate on top. They were in quite tall glasses on silver little trays and were a nightmare to carry across a busy restaurant

And your whisky 🙂

Well, I don't personally, but DH does.
🥃

I even like haggis!

Mollygo Sun 27-Nov-22 16:03:36

No you just drink it like Baileys, or ruin it with ice. You can add it to drinks or pour over ice-cream, but I like a small glass, neat.

JaneJudge Sun 27-Nov-22 16:06:39

Mollygo, I was talking about the baby guiness smile I hadn't realised there were different types of baileys

Baggs Sun 27-Nov-22 16:08:07

When I had a broken shoulder and couldn't sleep I'd get a glass of Baileys and a mug of tea and read in bed while sipping them in turn. It always helped me get back to sleep.

No. You do it in a shot glass. Tia Maria (or other coffee liqueur) at the bottom, Baileys at the top. Looks like a tiny Guinness.

I'm now going to have to buy some tia maria confused

Why do you always have to give us what you think is a lesson on what you presume we don't know?sad

I really want to see a tiny Guinness

How does it bother anyone that doesn't live in Scotland though? Surely Scotland can decide for itself?

Yes, but it would affect the RUK.

Scotland doesn't need King Charles and his crew

But, but... volver has said in the past that she doesn't mind him at all.

Oh and here's me thinking Charlie is your darling.

Callistemon21 Sun 27-Nov-22 16:32:31

I think it sometimes bothers people who don't live in Scotland because they've grown up with the idea that although Scotland has a character of its own (much admired across the world), for everyone alive today in Enlgand, Scotland is not a separate country. It's like another Yorkshire wink. (Quick ducking movement here!). It's part of the wonder that is Great Britain

That's rather a sweeping statement, Baggs and I don't think it's true.

However, I may be biased as I live in Wales, but I am English.

I can understand and recognise the differences and between the different countries of the United Kingdom.

As for Yorkshire, well apparently that is God's Own Country.

And, for all those mentioning whisky, Welsh whisky is very good 🥃🙂

What is this about? Really, what is this about? It's weird. It's a bit sinister, actually.

Please stop picking on me.

varian Sun 27-Nov-22 16:36:24

It bothers many people who do not live in Scotland because they are Scottish or part Scpttish as so many British people are. Of course we do not want to become foreigners in our own ountry.

FannyCornforth Sun 27-Nov-22 16:38:33

I make my own Baileys, if anyone is interested.
It’s even better than the real thing (as Bono once warbled)

FannyCornforth Sun 27-Nov-22 16:40:24

Guinness is nice with Tia Maria in it.
Do you think that we should have a dedicated booze thread?

JaneJudge Sun 27-Nov-22 16:41:14

i like tia maria with coke but honestly haven't had it for about 20 years and now want one right now!

Kandinsky Sun 27-Nov-22 16:43:33

Do you see how much butter costs? Its diabolical!!

Sorry to derail but I have to agree with this, country life is almost £5.00!

FannyCornforth Sun 27-Nov-22 16:44:59

Apparently they are putting security tags on butter now, and 4 pint jugs of milk sad

Oreo Sun 27-Nov-22 16:47:08

Anyone else been to Tesco? Or just about to go? Or will be going on Monday?🤔

Oreo Sun 27-Nov-22 16:48:38

jugs ?
Where do you live FannyCornforth 1875? grin

Oreo Sun 27-Nov-22 16:49:51

Use Clover instead of butter, it’s alright in sarnies.
