I had never heard of this man until very recently he sounds totally toxic to young people, I hate the title influencer at the best of times, but when the influence is anti women, racist and violent it’s terrifying

Calendargirl Sat 31-Dec-22 08:14:46

I’d never heard of him either.

Ignorance is bliss.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 31-Dec-22 08:17:55

Hopefully we won’t hear much from him again - he’s been arrested I think.

BlueBelle Sat 31-Dec-22 08:24:14

Well only for 30 days Wwm I was listening to a ring in and a man said his name came up around the dinner table all the adults said ‘never heard of him’ the 13 year old son said “yeah what a legend”
Please Google him and his hate speeches I ll try a link but they don’t always work for me

All I’ve seen is the spat between him and Thunberg. Then JHB weighed in calling Thunberg a half-educated autistic who knows nothing.

We could cheerfully do without these sort of people.

Tate to Thunberg

This is just the start.

Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions.”

Thunberg to Tate.

yes, please do enlighten me. email me at [email protected]

JHB weigh-in

“I’d choose AT’s life every single time over the life of a half-educated, autistic doom laden eco-warrior”

Let’s hope we never hear from AT and JHB ever again.

Witzend Sat 31-Dec-22 08:45:57

I’d never heard of him, either. But then I don’t do Twitter or TikTok etc., and FB only once in a blue moon.

Chocolatelovinggran Sat 31-Dec-22 09:04:23

Nor I: the article is horribly revealing, isn't it. His repulsive views, in conjunction with published material from male " incels" ( the involuntary celibate) are very dangerous in how they might shape the minds of boys and young men towards girls and women. Surely the photograph of this man with the odious Nigel Farage is enough to turn any woman into a Voluntary Celibate..

Blondiescot Sat 31-Dec-22 09:10:17

A disgusting excuse of a human being if ever there was one. Hopefully those Romanian prison guards might lose the key to his cell...

GagaJo Sat 31-Dec-22 09:19:46

That's because we are not his target market, which is young men. Tate is dangerous. Hopefully he'll be put away and that'll be one less violent, antisocial influence on an impressionable group.

Galaxy Sat 31-Dec-22 09:27:47

Yes I was aware of him. He is a vile man.

Joseanne Sat 31-Dec-22 09:29:27

Scary stuff.

FannyCornforth Sat 31-Dec-22 09:30:24

I’ve been aware of him for several months, as have the authorities.

The people trafficking allegations have been around for months (This May as far as I’m concerned).

Like Jo says, he is incredibly, horrifyingly dangerous as far as boys are concerned.
I certainly wouldn’t want to be teaching Y6 boys at the moment.
His influence on boys’ behaviour towards women teachers and girls in schools has already been documented.

He’s that terrifying mix of evil and a degree of intelligence.
He seems to have manipulated the TikTok algorithm to a scary degree.

His father was a international chess master of note, and Tate played professionally as a child.
He was also the second best kick-boxer in the world of his weight.

I sincerely hope that they throw away the key.

TerriBull Sat 31-Dec-22 09:31:25

He's all over the news, I'd never heard of him either, but then so called "influencers" rarely target our demographic probably because they realise we'd be a difficult target market, less susceptible. This man sounds absolutely vilehmm

Galaxy Sat 31-Dec-22 09:31:50

Not the most important point in this whole issue, (and too late for Big Brother) but Big Brother and similar shows could do with having adequate screening of its participants.

TerriBull Sat 31-Dec-22 09:33:21

Reading the rest of your posts, he appears to be very dangerous. Shocking shock

FannyCornforth Sat 31-Dec-22 09:34:48

Galaxy

Not the most important point in this whole issue, (and too late for Big Brother) but Big Brother and similar shows could do with having adequate screening of its participants.

They thrive on having the most controversial and volatile contestants.
It wouldn’t surprise me (or you, Galaxy, I suspect wink) if the producers weren’t already aware of what Tate was all about

Galaxy Sat 31-Dec-22 09:39:11

Possibly. I had such a soft spot for BB at the start but then...
It's a difficult one I suppose ( I dont mean with violent men that's easy) there were many contestants who obviously had complex mental health issues but of course those people have the right to make their own decisions.

MerylStreep Sat 31-Dec-22 09:41:54

My grandson and his girlfriend brought him to my attention some months ago. He asked me what I thought of him.
I didn’t hold back. 😡

FannyCornforth Sat 31-Dec-22 09:42:48

Yes, I like BB too.
Especially Celebrity BB. The one with Pete Burns et al was one of my favourite TV experiences ever.
But yes, there have been some very worrying decisions made - in fact so many contestants spring to mind.

ParlorGames Sat 31-Dec-22 09:46:21

I bet his mother is really proud of him! NOT!
What a disgusting, vile, self opinionated jerk he is!

FannyCornforth Sat 31-Dec-22 09:51:54

He has a sister too.
I think that he has daddy issues

Rosie51 Sat 31-Dec-22 09:56:10

I wasn't aware of him before, and wish I didn't need to be aware of him now. What a thoroughly rotten specimen he is. Terrifying to think of the influence he is having over impressionable youth.
I don't watch much TV at all and have never seen BB or similar programs, but having read about them I'm sure the participants are chosen quite deliberately.

Ailidh Sat 31-Dec-22 10:42:30

I read somewhere -?GN?- that it was his electronic spat with Greta Thunberg that revealed his location to police and led to his arrest.
I like irony.

Galaxy Sat 31-Dec-22 10:44:55

I read that too. I am not sure it's entirely true, but I think it's fine to pretend it is wink

GagaJo Sat 31-Dec-22 10:45:08

One of my 15 year old, online students attempted to discuss and defend Tate to me. Difficult.
