There's a big difference between misremembering and 'remembering' in great detail something that didn't, and couldn't possibly have happened.

Yes I've read that book TerriBull and know what you mean.

This evening in the Telegraph from an interview with Bryony Gordon,

The Duke also revealed that he felt “responsibility” to reform the monarchy for the sake of Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four. “I know that out of those three children, at least one will end up like me, the spare,” he said. “And that hurts, it worries me.”
He admitted that the notion frustrated Prince William, adding: “He has made it very clear to me that his kids are not my responsibility.”

What ever next?

And a good job too. The further H stays away from W & K's children, the better.

Baggs, well done you! You beat me to the punch. I won't buy it because I don't keep birds. And I think Oprah and some others may be buying thousands of copies for support or to give to friends.

Oh dear.
Rishi would not be impressed with Harry’s maths
Three minus one = two .

And indeed Williams children are not Harry’s responsibility. Whouda thunk it?

I ordered one via Waterstones for my friend in Australia. I hope she will receive it - I haven’t heard anything from her. Cost me quite a bit , including postage 😂

merlotgran Fri 13-Jan-23 20:41:36

I wonder what he’ll call his next book?

Washerwoman Fri 13-Jan-23 20:59:02

If I was Prince William I would be seething. How dare he make comments like that about their children. It seems he's held back some more 'revelations' and intends a follow up book. This is after the Netflix declaration that now they had told their story they were looking to the future. He obviously meant future mega bucks.

Callistemon21 Fri 13-Jan-23 21:03:48

I think the inference that Harry was born not only as a "spare" but in case anything went wrong with William sounded all a bit like Jodi Picoult's book "My Sister's Keeper". Anyone who has read that will know what I mean.

Well, there would be a whole long list of Royals in line for the top job had something happened to William, heaven forbid, had Harry not been born!

I wonder what he’ll call his next book?

Don’t think it will be ‘Happy Families’ or ‘Brotherly Love’ somehow.

Then Movin' on Up.
California Dreamin'?

Suggestions on an A4 sheet please.

merlotgran Fri 13-Jan-23 21:17:18

If I was his wife it would be, Spare Room!

SporeRB Fri 13-Jan-23 21:18:38

If Harry managed to gain access to William’s children on the pretence of reforming the monarchy, I would not put it past Harry, sick narcissistic person that he is, to use that opportunity to influence and turn William’s children against their own father.

merlotgran Fri 13-Jan-23 21:20:59

He won’t get very far with Louis.

Harry should focus on his own marriage and his own children. He’s not exactly looking after their interests is he. People will share with his children the stuff that he’s spouting.

Kryptonite Fri 13-Jan-23 21:51:25

It has disappeared from our independent bookshop today. Not in the window display or inside. There were 6 copies in Sainsbury's on day 1. I do plan to read it when price reduced. Apparently, it is well written by the ghost writer.

Short paragraphs, lots of italics and short chapters.

Obviously aimed at readers with a short attention span. 😂

We love this picture, totally uninhibited Louis, the future of the Monarchy in safe ears.
With his concerned Uncle notion, Harry has overstepped the mark as far as William’s children are concerned, now he will not be allowed anywhere near them.

maddyone Fri 13-Jan-23 23:06:24

To be honest, I just wonder what the future does hold for Harry. I can’t see a way back to his family after this. It’s all very sad really.

Callistemon21 Fri 13-Jan-23 23:08:28

It’s all very sad really. It is sad. He's been poorly advised.

Spice101 Fri 13-Jan-23 23:33:39

Apparently Harry is the only one who ever loved the Queen!

Mamie Sat 14-Jan-23 05:53:53

I also noticed the short sentences and paragraphs at the beginning, but as I got further into it and the style changed I assumed that had been a literary device to reflect the recollections of a young boy. Did nobody else think that?
As for the "book for readers with a short-attention span" remark - well I have actually read it and personally found it required quite a bit of attention and thought.
Interesting thread really - eleven pages of comment on a book most people haven't read. 🤔
