I think Boris is fantastic. The way he came to power then dealt with Brexit, Covid (suffering in intensive care himself), the search for a vaccine and Ukraine, was masterly. (And yes, I lost a family member to Covid too). I think and hope history will treat him kindly and look forward to welcoming him back as ur PM in the future

He came to power based on a torrent of Brexit lies. He did not create a vaccine - give credit to those scientists who did. His getting Covid is no achievement! Geezo - think of those thousands who were seriously I'll without privileged access to care - not to mention those who died! History will treat him as the lying manipulator that he is!

I don't believe a word boris says, I am furious with him for having the barefaced cheek to lie to the electorate on the side of a bus. And we know what the Russians do when they want to take someone out, it's salisbury, Alexander Litvinyenko or just tip someone over a balcony, as happened recently.
Boris is a liar but he can disrupt the tories which suits me cos I think the sooner they're gone the better. what they've done to our wonderful NHS is unforgivable, not to mention the rest of our public services.

I agree. He needs to be reined in before it is too late.

Whilst I think Boris has many faults, I do think he got us through Covid - ignoring his little ‘issues’ along the way. We needed leadership and not much was provided by anyone elsewhere.
However, I believe him to be an unsettling influence in the UK. But if he wants to act as a broker on the Ukrainian situation, that’s perhaps a good use of his talents.
No moans about partying and the rest, they’ve all been heard before!

Is there somebody in a position other than Prime Minister that you think should have been providing leadership? I’d say that would have been confusing and inappropriate, although I thought that the Chief Medical Officer and team’s handling of the situation was exemplary, and it was their advice I listened to.

Boris is a proud supporter of Russia - which makes his love affair with Ukraine confusing. He has enobled a relative of Russian security services against advice from our own security services and he and the current Mrs. Johnson have partied with some of Russian Oligarchs whose money is being put through the washer in London.

Russians have a fondness for what are called 'holy fools' who were/are seen as carrying on magical/spiritual beliefs and practices.

Holy Fools are associated with 'feeblemindedness' and thus deserving of protection. Our Boris may be seen by Putin as in that tradition so while I can believe in the long phone call I really can't believe Putin would want to take him out.

And shamelessness is part and parcel of serving in this cabinet. Zahawi claimed for the heating of his stables along with the heating of his home in the country 'by mistake'. He studied electrical engineering at Uni.

did he? How? He made the decision to go ahead without EU block, and it has cost the country billions, now debts, as we had to pay much much more for vaccines. EU followed very soon after and soon caught up wth vaccinations. UK deaths were massive in numbers- because of mis-management by Boris and co.

I heard a very reason argument recently about certain groups of Conservatives in the HoP wanting to bring Johnson back at towards the end of the year and that he is preparing for it.

It really made me want to curl up and hide under the duvet.

DaisyAnne the whole point of my posting! Anyone with an ounce of intelligence is aware of the litany of lies Johnson has put out to the public for many years. As an example even today he is trying to whitewash his position on Partygate. As the man himself said in 2013, keep repeating lies and people will accept them. To the posters who want him return, I challenge them to explain to their grandchildren the absolute tragedy that is the UK today, following his service and will be under his future reign, if allowed! This is not Boris bashing as some like to call it. Rather encouraging this population to face up to the dangers of his approach!

I am completely disgusted with Labour politicians who heckled Rosie Duffield for her stand on supporting women and our rights. Then there is the complete silence from Scottish members here who wade into any argument about the Conservatives but act as though Nicola Sturgeon’s government was not in deep trouble with voters over the Gender Recognition legislation. She was completely flummoxed over a man claiming to be a woman who was to be placed in a women’s prison despite the fact that he was a rapist.

Now where is Volver and her supporters over this mess in Scotland? I was looking forward to a thread on this subject, I did start a thread but there was no interest. Now if that thread had been about the Tories we would have had loads of posts. The Tories have little or no chance of being re elected and change in Government is needed. I will be happy for Labour to win because I think they deserve to be in government. So how do Scots feel about their politicians?

You can’t read the political threads at all often if you don’t think there’s criticism from Labour supporters about the party Anniel, it’s a constant theme - Starmer bashing is almost as prevalent as Boris bashing!
