Camilla has reportedly indicated she wants her five grandchildren (three are pictured left); Lola and Eliza, both 15, Freddy, 13, and twins Louis and Gus, also 13, to hold the canopy over her as she is anointed with holy oil on May 6.

What an unpleasant thread this has turned into, best avoided. Mind you Annie, I was wondering about the photography too!!wink

Yes, maybe, but isn't it my freedom of speech to say what I feel about such unpleasantness?, mollygo.
I realise everyone has their own opinions though.

I don’t think Mrs PB should be anointed. She is a mistress who together with Charles caused a marriage to fail. I would never personally call her Queen or show her any respect. She clearly had no self respect and neither did he, who clearly married Diana in arrangement to produce heir. Sorry, it’s very sharp in my mind and he is very entitled and getting his own way. Bring in the coronation of William. He will hopefully be a better King, if we still have a monarchy then!

I agree. I think KC is so blinkered on this matter that he's unknowingly damaging his own reputation.

I agree. C appears to be in firm control . Like father like son,I mean H &M.

What is unpleasant about this may I ask?

Absolutely! And I agree with your point of view about the unpleasantness.

I believe Charles was tricked into his first marriage,

Thank you Faye.

I believe Charles was tricked into his first marriage,

Poor man he was only 32 at the time.
He could have said "No"

Anniebach Tue 28-Feb-23 21:50:27

He trusted

I doubt anyone loves pageantry more than I do but I will never watch this coronation.

Tradition is considered practically sacrosanct until something 'unpleasant ' comes up- then it's 'let bygones be bygones '

Time hasn't and never will change the fact that decency is decency and it far outweighs tradition or monarchy for that matter.

What these two did to Diana whether you liked her or not was indecent.

No amount of oil will validate their collusion, betrayal and ultimate destruction of the young and innocent Diana.

Neither Charles or Camilla are fit to be crowned.

Royal family are fast becoming the laughing stock of the world.

Anniebach Tue 28-Feb-23 22:25:29

What Diana did to Mrs.Manakee, Mrs.Carling and Mrs.Hoare was acceptable?

silverlining48 Tue 28-Feb-23 22:32:33

Surely Mr Manakee, Mr Carling and Mr Hoare were as much if not more at fault. It was they who broke their vows to their wives.

Anniebach Tue 28-Feb-23 22:50:11

So a woman has an affair with a married man and the fault lies all with the man, Diana did what Camilla did yet it’s Camilla who takes all the blame, Diana still the victim 🙄

Charles could have married Camilla in church after Diana died but for one little problem. The C of E accepts second marriages after divorce but not usually if the relationship began before or contributed to the divorce. (So that was out!)
It's all a bit of a joke isn't it?
I mean in 1953 A young woman making her vows to God in a church she sincerely believed in was touching.
In 2023 an old man making vows and being anointed, along with the woman he had a long term affair with, watched by his children, her children, his grandchildren and her grandchildren, some of whom won't be speaking, is the stuff of soaps and Hollywood. I just wish Hollywood was paying for it.

Well-said Glorianny

Waits for the excuses of “Well he did it first”
I still can’t get my head round D’s treatment of her children tied to her continued veneration by the masses.

Galaxy Wed 01-Mar-23 08:32:50

I dont venerate her but she is dead so not a great deal to say about her, I think for me it was her age and his age that made his behaviour particularly uncomfortable for me.

Anniebach Wed 01-Mar-23 08:38:28

Saints are venerated

Hollywood?
Nope, it’s the stuff of history, British history. Can’t have been many, or any kings that didn’t have mistresses.
It’s because they could never marry for love reasons.

I also agree.

Charles is spoiled, selfish and blinkered. Always has been. What he wants, he gets. So quite despotic really.

silverlining48 Wed 01-Mar-23 08:46:53

Well yes, he did do it first......

Anniebach Wed 01-Mar-23 09:00:03

How do you know silverlining ?

silverlining48 Wed 01-Mar-23 09:20:26

I don’t know, none of us know, unless we have moved in royal circles, which we havnt, but it’s my opinion based on what I have seen and heard over 40 odd years.
Your opinion is clearly different and that’s fine.

Anniebach Wed 01-Mar-23 09:25:19

Seen and heard - the press, media and Diana

faye17 Wed 01-Mar-23 09:28:53

Whatever knee-jerk reaction Diana may have had to the cold, adulterous and manipulative behaviour of her husband not to mention to the growing realisation that she was the toy for both Charles & his ladylove to manipulate since the very outset have absolutely nothing/zero to do with the fitness of either manipulator to be king or queen.
Adultery was the least of their sins.

I agree with everything you've written

Diana was prone to knee jerk reactions
