If he brings understanding to ADHD well done him.
Bereavement wipes out everything
The King has reportedly evicted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage, their residence in Windsor. Buckingham Palace let the Duke and www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1740755/royal-family-meghan-markle-prince-harry-frogmore-cottage-king-charles of Susses know about the plan to take away the property from them just days after Harry's tell-all memoir, Spare, was published worldwide, it has been claimed.

Nope, I wouldn’t pay to watch Harry do anything. Boring person with only one tale to tell, poor him!
Just wish he’d go off with his ‘tale’ between his legs!
Norah
If he brings understanding to ADHD well done him.
Do you think he is, though? Helping? Or hindering the cause of those who have more, very real problems but are unable to access help?
And does self-diagnosis count?
Or is it a result of drug-taking when he was younger? He's lucky that he seems to have come through relatively unscathed.

Maybe, Norah, but my concern would be that every parent in the land will now think anybody can diagnose ADHD in under an hour of listening, or reading some drivel when it usually takes several hours of observation, assessments, tests etc.
If not, this guy should offer his knack of instantly diagnosing ADHD to every school, everywhere, and save us a lot of money!
I am interested in learning more about Mate's viewpoint on ADHD. I didn't watch the interview so I cant comment on that. But I can say that and psychedelics are being tested in veterans with PTSD here in the US with excellent results and I know many people who use marijuana to help with symptoms of ADHD.
Though there is a fine line between treatment and self medicating and knowing when one crosses that line is key.

Well said Joseanne
I would bet that the majority of us have one or perhaps more symptoms of ADHD.

We've a SIL with ADHD. He tells that he was diagnosed at 14, by testing, reading his written answers, observation. He takes tablets.
I'm not his mum, I've no idea if he took drugs younger.
He has real problems; concentration, procrastination, distraction.
Here in the US, until several years ago, ADHD testing was done by a self reporting method where the patient, parents and teachers would fill out a form. Now there is a computerized test that takes less than 30 minutes.
Did anyone actually watch the interview? I wonder if Gabor and Harry have met privately previously or if this is the first time? So many questions I would have before forming an opinion on this. Which I will never have answered really because I didn't watch it and wont ever see it.
I'm sure Harry's expensive education would have already diagnosed it anyway. I can't see why this guy seems to think he has made a revelation? It's all wrong, especially in public.
Drugs do not cause ADHD. In fact the #1 medicine that is prescribed for ADHD is amphetamines. My kids weren't even offered non-stimulants until we exhausted all the stimulants available. Many people with undiagnosed ADHD self medicate with legal (and illegal) substances because it helps them.
And yes, I know this because I and both of my children have been diagnosed with ADHD. We all also have comorbid anxiety and OCD. It all lives in the same place in the brain.
That is why I am interested in Mate's take on ADHD. Not enough to buy his book, but I may see what I can find online.
I know some people have ADHD and I'm glad you DGS got a proper diagnosis and help, Norah.
DD works with children who have ADHD, autism.
I'm just questioning Harry's self-diagnosis confirmed by a doctor in an interview on television which we can all witness if we pay £17.99!
You misunderstood: of course I am not saying drug-taking is the cause of ADHD but the obverse, that drug-taking can cause long-term problems.
Harry has told us he took drugs and this can, like alcohol, we know, give problems even after coming off them, causing ADHD-like symptoms.
I am definitely questioning it as well Calliste. That is why I wonder if they have met previously and had sessions.
I have never heard of long term drug use causing ADHD like symptoms, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen of course just that I haven't heard of it.
I am interested what your daughter thinks about the research coming out on gut health in terms of Autism and Parkinson's? But that is for a different thread I suppose.
I also should say that I wonder about the cycle of drugs/ADHD.
Is the drugs causing the ADHD symptoms or is there to much self medicating happening and ADHD was already there but then the self medicating makes it worse?
Ugh grammer. Sorry
Are the....

Apart from testing, reading his written answers, observation - how or why could his school, expensive or not, "diagnose it anyway"?

🤔 chicken or egg situation?

I saw something in passing about this, must investigate further.
She is very aware of gut health for other reasons.

Not GS, our SIL. We know only what he has told us. Nothing more.
It appears the tablets help his ADHD symptoms. I understood what you meant about drugs, I clarified my knowledge base.
Apologies, Norah, I should have read more carefully, I saw age 14 and thought it was a DGS.
Well he doesn’t seem to suffer from attention deficit he’s been steadfast in criticizing his family
Hyperactivity, not that Ive noticed
Just a jealous self-pitying sibling, is that a disorder?.
I wish they would just "Shut up"and go away. Many people are having to choose between eating or heating. I feel so sorry for them all. I doubt, very much, that these two have to choose. 2 spoiled brats!
I think Royal Lodge has 30 rooms not 30 bedrooms. H & M have been offered the flat at Buckingham Palace as a place to stay on the odd occasions they grace us with their presence, so they won't be slumming it poor dears. Generous of the King considering their constant whining and trashing. I'd have told them to use a hotel like other visiting royalty do.

I’d say it’s a canny move to put a distance between them and the Waleses.
Be a bit lonely rattling around Buck House on their own - apart from the builders and decorators of course.

I was pleased at first when he raised awareness of mental health issues, but cynically I wonder if he now wants attention for something else. If he was taking medication for ADHD he wouldn’t have been able to be a pilot.
I don't think Harry has necessarily done the mental health causes any favour at all by his prattling on. He claims to have had therapy for 2 decades yet many are of the opinion (including me) that it hasn't worked.
I don't have any MH issues, but I assume that if you do, you can still be kind and loving towards members of your family? And not mock others' disabilities?
Or maybe you use it as an excuse to be all the more horrible?
