No, I am not. My comment was in reply to another poster who seemed to suggest it might be. I have no idea what Labour policies on anything are.

They all have wonderful plans until they’re elected and called upon to enact them. It’s very easy to say what they think people want to hear in order to get elected.

The answer was what I expected. TBH, I thought that there might be a more compelling reason.

I don't for one moment think that the 'people at the top' are the only ones in the world who are capable of doing the job; they'd be welcome to go elsewhere.

What is interesting is that 'shareholders' usually nod through the remuneration packages. As I suspect that the greater number of them are financial institutions of one sort or another, I should think they are perfectly happy with big pay packages. as that is what their higher management expect for themselves.

How about the hierarchy of racism that Forde highlighted in his report, and yesterday said you'd ignored?

How about the BBC pressuring him to remove parts critical of the Panorama hitjob (that featured people you paid off with members donations)?

Forde has spoken on YouTube that over 100 of his recommendations KS did not implement nor speak to Forde.

I am not sure that all the highly paid are as needy / greedy whatever the reason that they can only value themselves by amassing more money than they could ever spend. I expect some of them enjoy their job and their community and know that hey are very lucky, and would not therefore, stomp off in a huff if they were not paid quite so much.
I also agree with MaizieD that they are not indispensable, nobody is, they could be replaced.

It always seems as if richer people need to be offered more in order to do a job, whereas poorer people are seen as having to be made even poorer as their incentive to work.

As for the Forde report, if it had said what Keir Starmer wanted it to say, he would be shouting it from the rooftops. It did not, therefore no more will be heard about it in the mainstream media.

The Tesco Chairman is obvs a fan of Labour.Personally I don’t have any interest in what he has to say.
I hope that Labour does have some good policies but will have to wait to hear them.

Are the people at the top of Tes co seen to be doing a good job themselves?
Just going by my local town, but Tesco seem to have lost a huge amount of business in the last year or so, to other supermarkets in town.

Personally, I am always wary of people cheerleading for others, when their own business, well to an outsider, may look ropey.

I have to admit that I'm rather apprehensive about Labour appealing to big business. How are they going to reconcile the demands of big businesses and the needs and wellbeing of the people who work in them.

I have no problem with Labour working with SMEs; these are the backbone of our economy, are massively run by skilled 'working class' (I struggle to find a suitable replacement for that term in this context) tradespeople or enterprising individuals who need protection against 'big business' and local economies that are suited to their needs and those of the people they serve. I don't think that the tories have had much regard for them over the years.

That's what happens if you sit nearer to the centre, Maizie; you can do good things (over time) for all. As long as people don't think things will happen overnight, the first five years could/should be okay. I would want to know the hard left are fully suppressed, as would business, I imagine.

After the disasterous periods of four previous Tory PMs Sunak is positioning the Tories to win the next GE. I think it's a problem to overcome public perceptions of incompetence, etc., so I think he has an uphill struggle and that Labour will win but perhaps with an inadequate majority.

I am expecting some scandal or other to be in the media, a few days before the election. To try and scupper things for a party or person.

Or/and someone says something really stupid, again, somewhat scuppering things.
