Just wonder at the fuss being made all around - glad H is attending, if it’s true his children were not invited not surprised M isn’t going and I often struggle at H and Prince Andrew being “bracketed” together as whilst I feel H has been unable and foolish, his “crimes” are hardly in the same bracket as his Uncle and I also wonder about the date chosen, can hardly change a child’s birthday but the coronation could easily have been any other date. If I was M I wouldn’t come !

I've never been interested in the celebrity news stuff but so many are that it's worth it for the press to literally hound people

Some celebrities successfully keep their children out of the press and those children are able to get normal jobs and move freely

I think it's the best solution. If Megan comes, especially with the children, she will be totally unable to keep herself in check. Her radar will be homing in on any photographers. You can tell that because, whenever they have their photo taken, Megan is always looking directly at the photographer. Also, she wouldn't care if attending took some of the limelight off the King.

Keffie12 do tell where Charles and Camilla spent the night together before his wedding. There was a dinner for wedding guests at Buckingham Palace that night. Did Charles drive from the palace through the crowds waiting outside the gates?

I don't blame Megan for staying away. The press in this country have been vicious to her from day one.

Wouldn’t little Archie love to join in the celebrations on his birthday? There’s one very cowardly couple throwing an emotional bomb in the family and expecting everyone to apologise to them. I don’t suppose Harry will be very well received.

I would have preferred they both stayed away - the birthday is a reasonable, albeit feeble excuse but it would do. Whether you are a Sussex fan or hater, and I am neither, there has been so much controversy and emotion stirred up, most recently by the Netflix series and Harry’s very revealing book, that his presence is going to distract from the main event, even if he is seated somewhere obscure. And that is a shame for everyone, including him.

I would no more have not celebrated my childs birthday on their birthday than flown to the moon naked. People live their lives differently to the way we do. Expecting people to have the same priorities as we do is odd.

I honestly think the British Media are guilty of whipping up a fervour in the Anti H&M / Pro W&K headlines. Meghan can do no right, Kate can do no wrong. Harry is "a traitor" (as quoted on this thread), William is a blooming saint.

I've seen two articles this morning which say less flattering things about William and Kate. One of them was talking about William's temper (of course it was blamed on his taking after his mother ) and the other was how Camilla is determined that Kate will not upstage her at the Coronation as Kate has become too up herself. Meghan is apparently thrilled with this turn of events and is going to make the most of it to divide and conquer! Honestly, you couldn't make it up!

I don't see anything wrong with Meghan celebrating at home with her child (whether he remembers his birthday or not!) whilst Harry attends the ceremony. It seems a sensible compromise. I can't see Meghan staying away because she is worried about being booed; I think she is more bullish than that.

I wonder if Meghan agrees with him not being there for Archie’s birthday. Thing is he’s too small to know the date so did they not consider celebrating it a couple of days early or later. Seems there may be more to it or am I looking too much into it

A date deliberately chosen by palace courtiers and allowed by a weak man in Charles. I personally think its appalling that date was chosen. Even more appalling Archie and Lilibet weren't invited.

H has planned it perfectly. He flies in for it, then flies straight out after the coronation. With the time difference he will be back home for his son birthday party.

The media and RF have treated them appallingly. For those sneering about microphones etc I will remind you Charles commissioned David Dimberlby to write his book in 1994 slating his childhood.

Charles also interviewed on TV about it in 1994, and announcing his affair to the world.

An affair he wasn't even truthful about because it never ended and continued before and after he married Diana. He was with Camilla the night before he married Diana.

For transparency Diana media response was in 1995 after Charles.

H & M do 3 programs on TV and 1 book and they are vilified. After all the garbage written anout them they have every right to respond.

Talking of leaks: Camilla office snd William office have been leaking to thr press lies and half truths for years to suit their own agenda.

The problem with the monarchy is we have no say in it. It's hereditary and not voted on.

You want a Republic then where we can have someone like Trump in, people say. We got the Eton version with Boris and the Tories. They can be voted out. The monarchy is hereditary.

Outdated and unfortunately in my lifetime I doubt I will see it end. After all they wouldn't end up on the streets and the public property could be overseen by the National Trust

Archie's birthday has nothing to do with it. He isn't old enough to know whether they celebrate on the correct day or not.

H & M will use it as an excuse (either that none of them were coming), or as has now been decided - Harry can rush back as soon as possible therefore not having to interact with family.

I think he must be very sad inside - but I do not believe the rest of the family can do anything to make things better unless he really does acknowledge how unnecessarily publically rude and cruel to them they have both been.

Omg The king has been married to Camilla for 17 years ...Harry is not the only person in the world to have a lost his mother when he was young he can't use that as his excuse for his behaviour he is a grown man .Megan wouldn't be welcome here by many people none of the trouble with Harry started till he met and married her ,now it's blown up in their faces she's almost disappeared back into the woodwork.
My daughter has had to miss her little boys birthday because she was away from home with work he's not 6 yet and his first day back at school ,so I wouldn't expect PHto be anywhere else but at his father's Coronation .

Who knew so many people here have, or had, personal relationships with members of the royal family, and this know for sure what they, their friends and acquaintances think, say and do, when, and with whom.

It’s a great relief to me, as it’s so much more likely to be true than whatever one could glean from the media.

Best solution for all. After her mainly unfounded accusations and comments she needs to stay away. I feel sorry for Charles, awful to be in a no win situation.

Child’s birthday is a bit of a weak excuse. Party could’ve been in London or when got back .
But im ok for her to stay there. Harry has emotional problems and needs help from someone who understands the Royal family and can give proper advice and guidance.
He hasn’t had good advice or help in Calif. the editor of his book needs firing.

Its the best solution - mother at home for child's birthday father out on business trip. Harry has fallen into the American system where to gain social status American women marry British men with titles. In happened en mass in the 1880s but seems to be still applicable. Have and English title and then you become a A grade socialite.
