Is this the best outcome?

They loved her initially & even exaggerated her Hollywood credentials. Something changed

We don’t have secret service minders for all the royal children! Only William and Catherine’s children get full time protection. That’s because they’re next in line to the throne. The only other royals who get protection are working royals and that’s only when they’re actually working. The King and Queen, and William and his family get 24 hour protection. No one else.

OK.

So given the terrible things that are said about them here and on Social Media more generally, and the hatred and division whipped up by the gutter press and News Channels, do you have an inkling why Harry might think his children are not safe here?

I think Harry wants a foot in both camps as insurance 👑

C123 Thu 13-Apr-23 19:51:32

But they're safer in America? Really?
Also, have we forgotten how much Fergie, Camilla, the then Prince Charles were absolutely loathed at some point or other by the press? Press approval comes, and, goes for many of these public figures

Yes. Really. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Quite possible of course that she will change her mind. 🤣 The birthday party isn’t much of an excuse, easy to brush aside.

maddyone Thu 13-Apr-23 20:06:18

I didn’t comment on the safety of Harry’s children, I answered a post that was about security more generally.
If Harry and Meghan had stayed here as working royals, it was said they they would have had 24 hour security for themselves and their children.
I’ve no idea whether Harry and family are safer here or in America. I haven’t commented on that.

General question.

Why does everyone take every post on here quite so personally?

No you didn't comment on their relative safety, but you joined in a conversation that started when someone did.

Well any answers? Is Louis going to the coronation? I’ll bet no, but of course we don’t know. He’d be quite entertaining though wouldn’t he?

Oh yes, he'd cheer up the proceedings no end!

We had a vicar who used to think that little children should always be welcomed and if they wanted to wander up the aisle and sit on the floor at the front, that was fine.

Growing more and more tired of what seems just like a roller coaster soap opera. There are so many nasty comments about King Charles and the Queen Consort and then the fact of the rudeness of Harry taking so long to reply he would be attending the Coronation. It is little Archies fourth birthday the same time and why couldn't the date of the Coronation be another day. King Charles is the grand-father of Archie even if Meghan is pushed out of the picture. Step up in his role as grand-father make your grand-son important. I like William and what a difference in the attention that Williams children get. As two brothers that is over favouring one set of grand-children, royalty or not Charles should make himself available to both sons even if he needs parenting lessons to do it.
I am not even going to watch the Coronation on T.V I have had enough of it all.

It was personal because you quoted my post volver and then went on to ask a question. It was therefore addressed to me. I’m polite, I answered.

I definitely think Louis would cheer up the proceedings no end Callistemon. Somehow I think he’ll be left at home.

Aye, fair enough maddyone, I can see that.

Pax.

Who cares!! Stop giving them the attention they obviously crave.

And you know that how? Were you involved in the discussions between the Palace and Harry? All we know for certain is when the Palace released the information. All the rest is speculation.

So given the terrible things that are said about them here and on Social Media more generally, and the hatred and division whipped up by the gutter press and News Channels, do you have an inkling why Harry might think his children are not safe here?

Indeed I do and, in any case, according to the press reports, the children were not invited so why put them at any more risk than they needed to be.

PH would need to attend the Coronation as he will need more fodder for book 2, their Netflix series, podcasts and so on. Not in touch with the Royal Family means his audience would soon lose interest.

However his presence at the coronation is viewed Harry will have to watch Charles and Camilla crowned where his mothers coffin lay

That’s a little over dramatic don’t you think?

Sounds like it will be a very quick visit.

Fly over, attend the ceremony, scowl, fly home again.

Done job!

Oh yes, he won't forget the scowl

Don't shout at me but I did wonder when the date of the Coronation was first announced whether it had been chosen because it is Archie's birthday, therefore giving H&M an excuse not to come.

If it was, it was a good idea. Old Megsie doesn't like the Uk anyway.

halfpint1 Fri 14-Apr-23 09:11:20

Its the thought of that scowl that deters me from watching.
Better he stays in the U.S. Poor Charles and Camilla , nothing
worse for them than a scowling onlooker.

volver3 Fri 14-Apr-23 09:13:00

We blaming him for his face now?
