I share many of Volver’s opinions, always have, probably always will do.
It’s her attitude towards posters on here that I dislike, not just this thread.

I am not right wing, although absolutely am gender critical. I am a Republican and also think Harry and Meghan frequently behave like idiots. Perhaps it's not a case of goodies and baddies.

This mostly applies to me too. I’m probably a bit more right wing than you Galaxy but I’m not rabid about anything. I think I’m slightly right of centre, having a foot in the left wing on some topics and more in the right wing on other topics.

I did have genuine reasons as I noted to leave the thread on both days, and shortly I will need to do so again as my sons are coming for lunch. Many of us come to Gransnet to relax, chat, discuss, and then get on with real life. So we have to leave threads. It’s usually that simple for me. I can’t comment on what others do.

Visitors, going out, life, it all gets in the way of GN!

maddyone I'm very sorry to hear about your FIL.

I would just like to make the following point.

When some favoured posters say they are leaving a thread, that's acceptable. And yes, sorry, but I do include you maddyone, although I don't think any of it is your doing.

When others, who are slightly less popular, say they are leaving a thread, they get told that nobody's interested, why are you telling us that, that its a typical response from them, that its getting too hot in the kitchen. They get asked why they are perpetually hanging around.

That hasn't all happened on this thread.

But the double standards and the attempts to discourage people who face doesn't fit with the gang, they are breath-taking.

On a discussion about gender the other day volver kindly told me that my children wouldnt have anything to do with me. So perhaps you need to include her in your condemnation gagajo alongside the gender critical.
