You don't know how this works then? Surprised at that Anniebach, you seem to know everything else about the dynamic duo.

🥱

Sorry, that was referring to those who assume superiority, for some reason

Saggi Fri 19-May-23 19:44:25

Luckily the press didn’t have to ‘drop the dead donkey’ story …..as this was the ‘dead donkey story’

hallgreenmiss Fri 19-May-23 20:00:10

But, of course, that doesn't give the press the right to act in an intrusive or dangerous manner 👍 I agree, it is the press who are disgusting

No, Harry and Meghan would have nothing were it not for the 'disgusting' press.

Such nasty know alls on here

are you casting yourself as a know all as you are on here too!

It's called standing up to bullies. And to be clear, it isn't the press I'm referring to here.

Love 'em or loath 'em, having the press hounding them like this, in the same way they did Britney Spears many years ago, is disgusting. For safety reasons. But then, it isn't called the gutter press for no reason.

Anniebach Fri 19-May-23 20:30:49

Who on this thread Is bring bullied ?

Who on this thread Is bring bullied ?

This.

Anniebach Fri 19-May-23 20:40:18

A question is bullying?

JPB123 Fri 19-May-23 20:46:17

Tittle tattle. Reminds me of an old lady in our village peeping through net curtains…..then rushing to the post office to get her pension but telling all and sundry what she saw,or thought she saw. Dear me!

hallgreenmiss Fri 19-May-23 20:47:32

Have a read of this, I think it says a lot about their entitled attitude;

I really, really have never understood all this papp hype. In the first place, you cannot, absolutely cannot, be chased unless you are the first to run! FACT, secondly, what is so painfully, life threatening about having your photo taken??? If they just stood still and glared at the photographers, who do you think would be the first to walk away? Nothing to see here folks, just move on????

Callistemon21 Fri 19-May-23 21:02:19

eazybee

One of the dangerous paparazzi in pursuit of the four SUVs and the limousine was on a bicycle confused

Makes sense, eazybee

They could probably weave in and out of the traffic more quickly.

So there's no hatred on here.
But one poor bloke, who married a woman so many on GN hate, was driving round New York trying not to panic as the car he was in was pursued by Papparazi, all trying to get a shot of them. They had to eventually leave the safety of their secure vehicle and take a taxi through New York, and even the taxi driver says there were still people taking flash photographs. The bloke's mother died in similar circumstances.
But hey they left the UK. They deserve all they get.
Sympathy apparently stops at the Atlantic Ocean.

Let’s unpick this

1) paps were following (note the less emotive term than “pursuing”) a car and trying to take photographs. That’s what photographers do, especially of so-called “celebrities”
One was on a bicycle 🤣

2) they left the safety of their secure vehicle and took a taxi
Well, really. How misguided was that.
Taxi drivers are presumably good drivers but unlike the Sussexes own security detail unlikely to be security checked or necessarily experienced in avoiding /escape tactics as any security team driver should be.
Cf the driver in Paris - what could possibly go wrong?

3) the taxi driver said the photographers were still taking flash photographs -yes, it was at night

4) “the blokes mother died under similar circumstances “
Not quite, that was a high speed car chase in a notoriously dangerous tunnel, the driver had been drinking, the passengers were not wearing seat belts. Oh that last bit is the same.

Get real.
Just for once turn off your own prejudices and stop assuming anybody who is sceptical of this non-story necessarily “hates” anybody.

👏👏👏

Some reasonableness shines through!

I don't buy into the "which camp are you in" thing. If you support H&M you therefore have to hate W&K. If you are fans of W&K you have to ridicule H&M

Me neither.
It's ridiculous.

AGAA4

I agree with Andrew Marr. It's a nasty way to earn a living photographing people without their permission. Although it didn't seem as bad as was first reported Harry I believe is fragile and something like this may have sent his stress levels soaring.
I am not interested in this couple at all but feel that what happened was very wrong. I would feel this way about anyone who felt threatened.

At least they could see the photographers, AGAA4, annoying that it might be, a price of fame.

It's when they use a lens which is capable of taking photos from a distance of a mile that it becomes underhand, sinister and disturbing.

Callistemon21 Fri 19-May-23 21:36:43

and possibly having flashbacks
Flashbacks occur when you have actually experienced something yourself.
I still have flashbacks of a motorway crash we were involved in years ago. I cannot have flashbacks of something that occurred to another person.

ruthie2 Fri 19-May-23 21:49:18

Where are all the photographs of this exciting (ahem) event? All those paps and they didn't get one decent picture? That's because the whole thing was a fiction.

merlotgran Fri 19-May-23 22:02:35

Some media spokesperson or other said last night that the papers won’t touch any photos with a barge pole because they’ll get sued by H&M if they publish them.

The agency responsible for 4 of the photographers admits it happened. They just have a different perspective on it.
In a statement, the company added: “according to the photographers present, there were no near-collisions or near-crashes during this incident.“The photographers have reported feeling that the couple was not in immediate danger at any point
I suppose it's like any other episode, the hunter doesn't think the hunted have anything to worry about.

Attention seeking yet again …..these two have mastered the art of this. Fabricating the truth is something H & M seem to be guilty of time and again. It really does bring into question their ongoing mental stability if they spend their opulent lifestyle openly lurching from one catastrophic disaster to the next. Clearly their decision to give up Royal duties has left them somewhat unbalanced,

Amalegra Sat 20-May-23 04:16:56

As many have pointed out, near impossible for this to happen in the crowded streets of Manhattan! The statement from NYPD appears to cast doubts on this story. An exaggeration of actual events to keep this pair in the news which has badly misfired. Anything to do with Harry’s court case regarding Royal protection? In poor form considering Diana’s death and I note that pictures released show no seatbelts being worn in the taxi too. Call me cynical, but on past evidence, I don’t believe it at all.
