Is there still a Conservative Party?

Chris Patten on QT said there isn't one any more. Is he correct? He said "I was the chairman of the conservative party when there was one"

So where does that leave free speech? If someone is condemned by another person as being racist or anti-semitic is no one ever permitted to speak to them about anything?
Or if they do speak must they expect to be sanctioned?
It is so funny when you watch the conversation. There's a bit here www.google.com/search?q=KenLoach+and+Jamie+Driscoll+in+conversation&oq=KenLoach+and+Jamie+Driscoll+in+conversation+&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i10i160l3.24357j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:653d07e1,
It's mostly about film

Mayor Jamie Driscoll
@MayorJD
Are all the politicians the same?

Do the people in the Westminster bubble think they know what’s better for the North East than you do?

Is that why
@UKLabour
didn’t trust members with a free choice of North East mayoral candidate?

KS and those that run the party do not want anyone left or moderate left. Video Starmer goes FULL DICTATOR Owen Jones. A politician Ian Driscoll very capable man serving mayor who has worked tirelessly for his community including achieved Very Many Good Things, a driving force for a Green Industrial revolution The party banned him. Because he is not on the right of the Labour Party.

If Owen Jones doesn’t like Keir that’s even more of a reason for me to support him. He doesn’t, for some reason, want a Labour government but just wants to remain in permanent opposition meaning about everything….I don’t buy The Guardian because he writes in it. He isn’t a journalist. He’s just a very silly boy.

So, this week Owen Jones, in a crucial bye election week, has been on Breakfast TV again criticising Keir, saying he might vote Labour but might vote Green. Along with Mick Lynch who’s also criticising Keir and getting his members to strike just when the hard working people of this country are going on their much needed holidays. I totally support the right to strike but imo it’s downright nasty spoiling people’s holidays…I don’t know what either of them want to be honest…sad All I can think is that they want to be in permanent opposition moaning angry

Not as we know it. Complete shambles and I’ve a horrible fear Labour won’t be any better. If we’re not careful we’ll see the rise of far right wing parties as in Europe. A scary backlash.

How sickening was Tony Blair on Sophy Ridge programme yesterday spouting what the Labour Party will be doing in power? Well you messed up Blair. Starmer doesn’t need you sitting on his shoulder telling him what to do.

Did you not listen to what Blair was saying? What bits of it did you disagree with?

Ww2 well that’s one point of view. The other is that there’s a slow economic recovery with prices coming down at the pumps and a possible 2p tax cut. I imagine more ‘incentives’ will be on the table by 2024.
The war in Ukraine might be over by then which would help our economy if we haven’t been annihilated by a nuclear strike and so on. Of course, we might be
seeing the start of another pandemic or war …. I am sorry if the good folk of Guildford, Goldalming and Horsham have lost their critical thinking skills but it’s probably caused by drinking too much coffee!

🤣 organic expensive coffee maybe?
It’s true that petrol coming down and competitive supermarket prices will help, tho I imagine the war in Ukraine may still be going on and where that will lead is anybody’s guess.
As we all know, a real of stuff can happen in a year.☹️

So Jamie Driscoll is going to stand as an independent. Interesting.

MayBee Blair was spouting forth. It’s not him who leads the Labour Party and who will probably be PM but Starmer. I can’t think Starmer wants Blair sat on his shoulder.

“He's actually a very clever and astute writer and broadcaster. "Chavs: the demonisation of the working class "is a well written, carefully thought out book.”

Please do not tell us that the above statement is a fact! It is YOUR OPINION. Owen Jones is not well liked by people except for the far left. Sir Keir is wise not to heed Mr Jones.

One of you mentioned that no Conservatives are here to defend the party. The current govt is poor and Conservatives know that. We are not stupid. But some of you are not worth the time to argue sensibly.Calling us “Selfcervatives” is not funny and I rather enjoy threads like this where left of the Labour Party chat to each other. However, I do not think all disgruntled normally Conservative voters will all turn to Labour. Some will vote LibDem others will go to the Reform party or Green. It will be interesting to watch the Uxbridge vote as Mayor Khans ULEZ policy is extremely unpopular with the locals. We shall see as Mr Asquith said. I am quite relaxed about Labour forming the next Government. It is their turn.
