I came across this article posted on MN.
It strikes me as very perceptive as Harry yet again drags up his mother’s death at the Invictus Games.
It’s so inappropriate and disrespectful to those thousands of injured servicemen and their relatives that an over-privileged, extremely wealthy individual constantly turns the subject to himself.

But it’s weird that anyone believes that the public don’t care about the important things just because they complain about Harry

And a classic illustration of a “Strawman” argument.

Could be that the people who spend their lives defending his weird behaviour or stupidity don’t care about the important things either
No moral high ground there either.

Anniebach Fri 08-Sept-23 13:11:17

So those who post on Harry threads, Katie Price threads, Cliff
Richard threads and other celebrity threads don’t know or care about what’s happening in this country ?

And if Harry does grow up, and begins to take responsibility for his own actions instead of blaming everyone else, his activities will cease to be front page news and of no further interest.
Do you really think the public don't know or care what is going on with education, police, water authorities, prisons, cost of living, climate change et al because a few people choose to express their disgust occasionally at Harry's behaviour?

It is so funny, people who were at the Beyonce concert have posted on Tik Tok film of the two enjoying themselves and dancing together. www.independent.co.uk/life-style/royal-family/meghan-markle-prince-harry-concert-beyonce-selfie-b2405609.html

I would imagine Harry is happy to be pursuing his charity work again. I would also imagine that like many fathers he sometimes enjoys a break from the family. Doesn't mean he isn't missing his wife and kids though.

Yeah and it's a work trip not a golfing weekend.

We are the country that noted for Boris Johnson who was the biggest lying and cheating manchild there is so worrying about Harry growing up is a bit hypocritical.

^I noticed that too, especially when a picture posted previously showed Meghan and Doria dancing, and a glum Harry standing with his hands in his pockets!^
Better than Dad Dancing 😁

Unfortunately it's a Windsor male trait.

So over the past few week ,he's been to a a Beyonce concert, released a documentary and given a great speech at The WellChild awards and e interacted so well with the children. What disgusting behaviour as he demonstrated?

The public might be aware of the country's decline but I'm not seeing the anger and vitriol from press and public towards the government that Harry and Meghan recieve.

I lost my Mother when I was 13, and my Father when I was 20.

Sorry to hear that. I'm involved in a charity for bereaved children and I really hope we make a difference.

Anniebach Fri 08-Sept-23 09:41:16

Such grief Gossamerbeynon

@DiamondLily. Yes the schools are crumbling, the sea is full of sewage, the police are being arrested for sex crimes, the care budget has been slashed after the promise of more funding, ambulances are taking hours to come, everyone's on strike, we've got the worst government in most of our lifetimes but people are hoping Harry will grow up.

I think the country needs to grow up really.

What Harry and Meghan do and say, is of very little interest to me. The same as the rest of the RF - I simply don't care.🥴

Whatever.

But, I do think the right wing media are using H&M to bury bad (political) news... anything the Tories have fouled up is buried under a welter of royal drivel...Kate's latest new clothes, what William thinks about Harry, what Kate thinks, what Charles thinks.., yada yada.🙄

Leave them be - they, unlike the rest, are not costing us anything. Not our problem.😗

Yep the are used to make us forget the country is not doing well.

Yes, and it's not very subtle.

Bad Tory news buried day after day.🙄

I just don't get why people would be interested in a journalists opinion on a royal they don't know, and will never know, or think that journalists have actually heard any of these so called conversations/arguments ...🤔

Royals are like actors - they play a part in public. That wouldn't necessarily mean they are the same in private.😉

eazybee Fri 08-Sept-23 09:16:30

Hope of him growing up at last.

I have to wonder if you are being deliberately obtuse or just missing much of the point @WellsRose or just arguing for the sake of being contrary.
However on a more cheerful note, Harry looked much more like his “old” cheerful and caring self - and a heck of a lot better turned out- at last night’s Well Child Awards.
And on his own. Perhaps there is hope.

Hope of what?

That's very rude. I've asked questions. Can you explain what ones are obtuse.

I could explain at length, WellsRose, but I'm leaving for France.
Basically in the UK, when Meghan had previously attended public events and explicitly demanded no photography, her wishes were upheld. Now, she needs every photo op she can find. She went back to the Beyoncé concert the following night and had heaps more photos done, but of course without Harry they were of no interest
Au revoir for now..

I didn't know she had attended the Beyonce so I've had to search and unfortunately I had to look on the Daily Hate (which is ironic as they're her biggest critics but still publish photos of her). That photo of with Kelly Rowland and Kerry Washington is amazing. They all look beautiful. She fits with them better than the RoyAls so she's found her people.

You said there is no interest in these photos so why are they in every paper?

Enjoy France by the way.

Anniebach Fri 08-Sept-23 08:51:49

A very good speech, he was relaxed, no mention of his mother or family

I'm not really understanding what you're driving at regarding him not mentioning his mother. Can you explain?

WellsRose Fri 08-Sept-23 08:06:34

Why because went to a concert? Should they never leave the house? Do you go to concerts or do you hide away?
