Good grief. He was even made deputy leader of the house when he was under investigation.

Will there be any Tories left who aren’t sexual predators!!?

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 10:41:07

There will always be someone who accepts every allegation as truth

For goodness sake, he has been found guilty! Here is the report of the findings:

What will it take to convince you that there are some men who commit sexual offences and that this is not acceptable?

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 11:00:50

What will it take to convince you that there are alleged victims who lie and this is not acceptable?

Fleurpepper Tue 17-Oct-23 11:02:30

Ilovecheese

Oh there will always be someone who thinks the victims of his behaviour are liars.

See Jimi Saville's victims.

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 11:08:29

See Carl Beech’s victims

vegansrock Tue 17-Oct-23 11:10:34

Some people always like to blame the victim.

I am convinced that this happens occasionally, but unless we believe in the justice system we may as well live in an anarchic society with no laws or penalties.

Bone was found guilty - what more do you want?

Casdon Tue 17-Oct-23 11:14:22

There were witnesses to a number of the incidents in this case, who were no doubt interviewed and gave statements, so it’s unlikely that it’s not true.

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 11:15:13

The justice system ! Innocent until proven guilty

Doodledog Tue 17-Oct-23 11:16:24

He has been proven guilty!!! Read the report.

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 11:18:40

Not in a court of law

Dinahmo Tue 17-Oct-23 12:23:10

Anniebach

Not in a court of law

Why are you sticking up for him?

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 12:35:07

I am not sticking up for him ,

Jaberwok Tue 17-Oct-23 12:53:06

Annie, you are quite right,it should be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, but that's not he case on here I'm afraid. All political party's have their suspicious /creepy apples, even the sainted SNP,but until they are convicted in a court of law, people should keep an open mind.

Ilovecheese Tue 17-Oct-23 12:59:48

But he has been judged guilty by his peers.

Casdon Tue 17-Oct-23 13:05:04

You don’t have to be tried in a court of law to be found, after investigation, to be guilty of gross misconduct in your role, and receive the appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal in any other organisation. I don’t see why MPs should be any different.

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 13:16:41

Guilty of sexual assault, which is a crime, but not charged!

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 13:18:47

Thank you Jaberwok seems misconduct in the workplace is the same as sexual assault

Casdon Tue 17-Oct-23 13:41:03

Anniebach

Guilty of sexual assault, which is a crime, but not charged!

Bullying constitutes misconduct, and was witnessed on numerous occasions according to the report. It’s up to the alleged victim whether or not to report sexual misconduct to the police, not up to the employer.

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 13:44:04

Is sexual misconduct the same as sexual assault?

Casdon Tue 17-Oct-23 13:50:49

Anniebach

Is sexual misconduct the same as sexual assault?

I’m not a legal expert, but I’d say no. Sexual misconduct could for example be people found having sex in the workplace consensually. I haven’t seen a report that Bone sexually assaulted the alleged victim physically, but he intimated him by exposing himself.

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 13:52:50

Thank you Casdon

If only our criminal justice system could ensure people like Bone could be prosecuted.
Even when rape or other forms of sexual abuse are brought to Court, the absence of corroborative evidence results in the jury being directed against conviction. That’s why the young man previously convicted of multiple rapes of a 13 year old girl, had his conviction squashed.

The balance of probabilities in civil cases can help protect children

Whitewavemark2 Tue 17-Oct-23 16:17:58

What is the issue with his wife and houses?

MayBee70 Tue 17-Oct-23 16:27:51

‘Although Bone was not mentioned in the 2009 Legg Report that was central to the official investigation into the United Kingdom parliamentary expenses scandal and therefore was not one of the 343 MPs required to pay back any money,[16] he was subject to some later reports relating to his expenses. He was one of 32 MPs who claimed the maximum allowance of £4,800 a year for food in 2010[17] and came under investigation in 2014 for expenses claims relating to the upkeep of his second home.[18] In 2016 he was criticised for using the government's help-to-buy scheme, which was meant to help young first time buyers, to buy himself a new constituency home.[19]’
This is from Wikipedia so I can’t vouch for how true it is. He voted against the upskirting bill. I’ve seen him day in day out when watching parliament and have to admit to disliking him immensely. He’s in the 1922 committee which is probably how his misdemeanours have been ignored for so long.
