A wise move? Or will he come to regret it?

Fleurpepper Tue 14-Nov-23 15:19:43

but Cameron has been involved in so manyshenanigans of his own!

Fleurpepper Tue 14-Nov-23 15:24:38

Panama, Greensill and China come to mind.

Blimey. Anyone listening to Bravermans letter? As has been obvious for ages she makes it clear that he owed her one for helping him become PM and should have had carte blanche to do whatever she wanted. And this is a woman that was happy to be Attorney General to enable Johnson to ignore the law of the land.

Nothing surprises me with regard to Suella Braverman, she cares little for the country, despite her populist spouting and she cares nothing for the party to which she belongs. She's a really unpleasant woman who is prepared to say deeply unpleasant things. Sadly I don't think we've seen the last of her, yet more incendiary stuff to come which will either force the conservatives to unite against her or which will drive an even further divide. I don't support the Conservative party but this behaviour reflects badly on Britain and I do care about that.

So just to recap, our unelected head of state, has given a position in Britain's unelected House of Lords to an unelected Foreign Secretary, on the recommendation of an unelected Prime Minister.

Correct! Democracy … what democracy???

I wonder how Nadine D is feeling about Cameron getting a peerage in about 5 minutes?

MayBee70 Tue 14-Nov-23 18:29:31

And Braverman only supported Sunaks bid to be PM if he agreed to do certain things that she told him? And he didn’t do them which is why she’s angry. Are these things that were in the party manifesto and did the electorate vote for them? If not how is that democratic?

Fleurpepper Tue 14-Nov-23 19:18:20

Shewas the tool of the ERG, and wanted a PM who would be their puppet.

Nadine Dorries on Sky News now saying that the Conservative Party is now all about personality and personal ambition. This from Boris Johnson’s biggest fan and supporter. Also Sunak isn’t very nice and you can see that when his mask slips. I seem to remember Johnson’s mask slipping on numerous occasions….

Goodness, I don’t think I’ve seen a case of the pot calling the kettle black that blatant in a long time. Nadine - self promotion, moi? - Dorries.

The interviewer gave her an easy time, didn’t she!

MayBee70 Tue 14-Nov-23 19:52:22

…why didn’t she ask her if going on IACGMOOH would be regarded as self promotion? Or maybe she was giving her enough rope to hang herself with?

I am very glad to hear that The Speaker is seeking advise about Cameron not being accountable in the House and open to questions. It is totally out of order, as The Speaker says, in such difficult times internationally, for a Foreign Secretary not being directy accountable to the elected House, and the country.

The ex-Home Secretary, Fruitella, should have pictured juicier and fruity words in her speech. But to lace it with rat poison in her vocabulary is spreading her death knell. I certainly agree with her in her many condemnations of illegal immigrants entering the UK in boats or otherwise. What kind of UK citizens object or denounce her favour? I can only think of slave traders with fruit or vegetable farms to employ them and pay pennies. It certainly sours the Gangmasters' income waiting by the seashore for these illegal immigrations to come on board.

She is one of the few people with the guts to say what many British people are thinking.
Bring her back to replace Rishi!

Really, Yellow Fox.?Why do you think it would be good for the country to have an opportunistic self-interested person with no planning ability or skill.Heaven help us .

Going back to the OP, I’m wondering how he is feeling following the publication of her letter. There maybe forces afoot to unseat him, so who knows, he may come to regret it.

Our family is relieved that she has gone. It’s taken far too long.
She is a cruel woman

ronib Wed 15-Nov-23 17:05:20

Rishi holding a press conference at the moment. As a country, we’re well and truly down the rabbit hole!

Do you think Rishi Sunak was right or wrong to sack Suella Braverman as home secretary?

YouGov: Conducted 13 November 2023

He was right to sack her 57%
He was wrong to sack her 20%

So no, yellowfox, not that many do think as you do.

Fleurpepper Wed 15-Nov-23 17:19:40

All recent by elections have shown this clearly.

JudyBloom Wed 15-Nov-23 17:20:35

Well said yellowfox.

orly Wed 15-Nov-23 17:42:41

I reckon he's already regretting this very low act. A minister who not only speaks her mind but also the thoughts of meant voters

DaisyAnneReturns Wed 15-Nov-23 18:05:57

Why does being wrong, not factual, attract a "well said" JudyBloom?

In the last poll on who agreed with the dreadfully women's policies it was 37%. So just under two-thirds of the country disagree. That's more than "many", it's "most".

JudyBloom Wed 15-Nov-23 18:48:46

DaisyAnneReturns, yellowfox is right. You can't trust any government polls anyway! Many other polls suggest the opposite. Suella speaks for the silent majority. Well done her for speaking the truth. I am not going to argue with you. This is my view as well as many others. You are entitled to yours but don't tell me I'm wrong when I know I am right, and so is yellowfox.
