Having Braverman spouting about her husband being a "proud zionist" and her converting to his faith isn't helpful .IF she wants to convert she should keep her private life PRIVATE .They cant make statements about faith issues and then complain when people get incensed ...not while Palestinians are dying every minute of every day .

Galaxy I stand with Palestine ,have been supporting them for decades since we had a Palestinian colleague who lost his home due to landgrab by Israel I DONT SUPPORT HAMAS,IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM .I dont believe the caarnage in Gaza is anything other than genocide ...we ALL heaard the remarks from Israeli politicians...or should that be mass murderers last week.They wont be satisfied until the Palestinian people have been eradicated.
As far as I'm aware babies and children and most Palestinians aren't terrorists so why are you so accepting of their murder ?
Israel has been flouting International law for decades.No other nation would get away with this we need to stop it NOW .

Well, I think there are but they probably don't often get their voices heard and are then ignored anyway. They're busy working hard, looking after their constituents and not showcasing themselves.

I am angry that this debate has hijacked our Parliament, when there are so many pressing domestic matters that urgently need attention. If the Speaker really was afraid that not having the amendment would place MPs in danger, as he said himself, then it is a very grave affront to our democracy. We should be careful of appearing to give in to any mob that demands that its point of view should prevail which is the overall impression this leaves. If our democratically elected representatives continue to be harassed and intimidated, even murdered, by various factions, where is the rule of law? And what kind of country are we becoming?

30p Lee should be disciplined by his party for what he said on GB news, but I don't expect he will. It was said on Twitter 'can you imagine the reaction if a Labour MP said that London was under the control of Jews'? The only saving point is that hardly anyone watches GB news.

For anyone unaware of what he said, he alleged that Sadiq Khan, mayor of London, is under the control of Islamic extremists.

I too agree, but I in no way blame “normal” Jews, nor the everyday folk in Israel, I hold their govts wholly to account. I do NOT support Hamas nor any of their actions, I do NOT hate Jews.

Wasn't he the MP who said you could make a family meal with 30p? Something like that, as he went off to eat his taxpayer subsidised restaurant meal (perhaps with subsidised wine) in the H of C.

Because I am still in bed most of the day I read every post and think this has been an excellent debate. One thing we are not talking about here: HOSTAGES. I honestly believe if Hamas released every hostage and the world demands a ceasefire then Netanyahu would be forced to stop. I wish people would pressure both parties to this. Re my views on Islam. All immigrants come to this country to look for a better life. In return they need to know that our laws and way of life are built on Judaic Christian principles and incomers must accept our way of life. Strangely I was an immigrant to Australia and it was made perfectly clear to us in a compulsory 6 week camp that we must accept the Australian way of life and not be a whinging Pom. Anyone who could not accept their way of life could leave. Imagine living in a country town with a Liverpool,accent? The other kids fell about laughing at my way of speech. Even now people ask me what part of Australia I am from!!! Can someone write about the Palestinians? I watched a programme which showed some of the justified Palestinian grievances. I saw that the men did not have beards and the women leaders did not cover their heads or wear Islamic dress. I know there are many Christian Palestinians (Bethlehem and all the celebration of the birth of Christ. ) I do not want to conflate their cause with my objection to Islam ….feminisn and all that.
BTW, I am very sympathetic to Lindsay Hoyle. I think he is a great Speaker who was genuinely trying to protect MPs. I hope my party comes to its senses and gives him full support. He is human, he made a mistake. Leave him in the chair.

It takes a lot of courage for a politician to admit that they made a mistake ( not that I think he did, though). If only more politicians were so honest.
