What colour car do you have or did you used to drive?
Voting. I’m so glad we still have the ‘old fashioned’ system…
Much as the title says. I know some GNetters have been fierce supporters of Israel's right to defend themselves by their incursion into Gaza. As the months go by and more information becomes available with regard to the treatment, deaths etc of Palestinians, has this changed anyone's opinion? Today evidence of the treatment of doctors and patients in the Nasser Hospital has been verified. Does this change your opinion?

I have explained several times, I dislike the playing of children
card, and it is played. I didn’t believe the casualties numbers in
February of Gaza and Ukraine , more casualties Gaza in 3 months than Ukraine in 2. Years,
Perhaps you need to look at the population statistics for Gaza and the size of the country.
There was a population of just over 2million. Half of the population were under 19. So just less than half would have been children.
The population of Ukraine is now just over 36 million with just over 6 million children. (It has fallen significantly from around 50 million in 2020)
So proportionally more children in Gaza.
Gaza is the 5th country in the world for its population density. Ukraine is 41st.
So more children, less space, more children killed and injured.
Yes, I saw it too Annie. I was upstairs cleaning and had the television on. I was disgusted by the Hitler poster.
Again, I did not.speak of children but civilian casualties

Then you will realise that the population density is the cause . Basically if you bomb heavily populated areas you kill more people and Gaza is heavily populated.
Maddy the Hitler photographs, singing From The River To
The Sea, placards with a swastika on them, all with police approval, I am so troubled for Jewish communities.
I feel concerned for our Jewish community antisemitism is vile and I am happy to see anyone breaking the law being dealt with. However I actually feel much more concerned for the people of Gaza. If the IDF were carrying banners and singing inappropriate and racist songs tbh I'd feel much less concerned but they are not. They are bombing a large population who have been herded into a very small area, they are starving them of food, depriving them of water and have effectively wrecked their health system. Today I listened to James Elder of UNICEF being interviewed, he is not a mouth piece for Hamas and I believe every word he said. It rather puts things into perspective!
My concerns are not rationed

No you are highly selective. You are deeply concerned by the sexual abuse of an Israeli baby (as am I) but seem completely unaffected by the starvation of Palestinian children and basically say reports of such things are just propaganda. Anniebach I am not going to respond to anymore of your posts, we are clearly a world apart in how we see this dreadful tragedy.
Just that, Foxie. & I can imagine that for some members of our Jewish communities, seeing Israel's industrial barbarism in Gaza would be more distressing to them personally than seeing vile antisemitic images displayed on our streets. It's happening in front of our noses & our country is implicated. We were taught about the Holocaust to make sure it never happens again, but I took the broad lesson that we must be vigilant to prevent a powerful state dehumanising and persecuting a less powerful ethnic group in the future, because these things can escalate so inexorably & look what evil came out of it in the Holocaust. However it seems the message I was supposed to learn was that we must prevent jewish people from suffering this in the future. Of course, absolutely, that lesson was learnt but surely no race should suffer that fate in future?
Yes, valdavi .
In the 1950's I was so moved by "never again" feelings. Still feel the same - no state or peoples.
OMG some US spokesperson (missed who he was sorry) on Channel 4 has just said Gaza should be cleared of people- they should go to Israel and Egypt whilst the country is cleared and then rebuilt. He said it wasn't ethnic cleansing.

Could someone please tell me how Israel was to deal with these murdering terrorists? Ask them nicely to please go away?'
Are you suggesting that the people in the aid convoy were murdering terrorists?
No, Growstuff, of course not. I asked a question which is never answered. It is:
What was Israel supposed to do after the murders and hostage-taking of October 7th.
I am particularly keen to see responses from those who are so vehement in their criticism of Israel. It's a simple enough question.
Murdering seven people in an aid convoy won't bring dead people back, nor facilitate the return of hostages, if they are still alive.
Unusual for ex paratroopers to take employment in aid charities

It's not unusual for ex-service personnel to join private security services.
Many ex-service and ex-police personnel are sought after by private security firms. They do have a great deal of experience.
Obviously aid workers in such dangerous situations require experienced security staff.

Err ... no. it isn't.
Yes it is, for many years I lived and worked in a military town in Wales
Sorry to argue, but no, it isn't.
They were employed by a security firm to protect aid workers in a dangerous war setting.
Sadly, they all paid with their lives.
Then I was correct,i definitely understand security, it’s what many do, so sad loss of life
You don't think someone helping to bring food and essential medicines to people in a war zone are aid workers?
It's semantics.

I’m curious, why is the news you see, and the info you are given by “sources” reliable, but when others post reputable links, information, statistics, it’s all questionable propaganda?

Correction. They were recruited by a security firm but working for World Central Kitchen's team bringing food and aid to desperate people.
The Israelis had been informed of their route beforehand.
Yes, they were in security, I didn’t disagree
A lot of my volunteers were Vietnam vets. They did a variety of jobs including meals on wheels, transporting people with a disability, visiting lonely people in nursing homes. Just saying.
Yes I am sure, I was referring to ex paras
