I think I’m going to buy the away kit because it’s purple and will make a nice change. He’s absolutely football mad, wears various football kits almost all the time when he’s not wearing school uniform, and already has an old white England kit. Although living in New Zealand for the last two and a half years, he is an English boy through and through.
I got the el cheapo version for his six year old brother which has his own name printed on the back which he loves. His sister got a Swiftie sweatshirt. That parcel with a few other bits arrived last week, but the football kit will go separately when I can actually buy it.

I'm not greatly offended by it, it is supposed to be something to do with 1966 World Cup colours I think. I just don't get why a country's flag, which is a recognisable symbol everywhere, needs to be changed, or where does it stop?
The purple kit is a nice colour, and DGS is hoping to buy it at Wembley on Saturday when he goes to the Brazil match, (he hasnt been successful in getting it online). At 8 years old, I don't think he will be too bothered, especially after 10 days of nasty chicken pox!
I agree with Jaberwok, try doing that with the French tricolore.

I don’t think they should alter our flag but ultimately the blame has to lie at the door of our FA who commissioned it. BTW it is not the colour of the 66 kit despite what they try to say.

I know Avalon, it’s outrageous isn’t it? But these children live in New Zealand and are going through a very difficult divorce process at the moment, and I like to spoil them and also as well as visiting, and them visiting us, we like to keep in touch with regular WhatsApp chats and by sending regular parcels. The parcel I just send only added up to the same amount I’ll be spending on that one football kit. But like Joseann I think the away kit, being purple, is a bit different and nicer, and his mum agreed when I discussed it with her.
The price of these kits is quite ridiculous for both adults and children.

A big mistake by Nike.
Btw Glorianny it’s Ronaldo and he moved to a Saudi club in January 2023, Al Nassr, so does not wear a Portuguese strip.
However, there are approx 170,000 Portuguese people, either by birth or heritage living in the UK who may wish to buy a Portuguese kit.

Joseann my grandson is the same. Long gone are the days when his mum could dress him up in cute Jules or JoJo Mamon Bebe clothes. He’s football mad, and keenly follows the football action in the UK. He loves his kits and has many. At least he can pass them down to his younger brother.

They do Glorianny - but the sales of heroes’ (Messi/Ronaldo/Mbappe, whoever) shirts will be of their Club not normally their country!

With my own grandsons I’ve been asked to purchase all three of the above but not one Argentinian, Portugese or French shirt with their name on. It’s the footballer they admire not their nationality.

Nicola Sturgeon gave Covid updates in front of a backdrop which had the Saltire's colours (intentionally) reversed. It was only 'corrected' when they discovered it was the flag flown by the Russian navy since the 18th century.

Personally I have no problem with Nike for creating it, it is their business, but a major problem with the FA for sanctioning it.
