Hmm.
Standing as a Reform MP after all?
Emigrating to America to canvass for Trump?
Joining the Tory party?
None of the above?

I shall tune in out of curiosity.

I think a Starmer/Farage debate would be more interesting, the 'gap' between Reform and Labour is larger than the gap between Labour and the Lib Dems.
I was looking at the debate stage at Glastonbury of all things and looking at the participants I thought well thats not going to be a debate it's going to be people agreeing with each other.
I dont think Starmer is a coward GSM, he may be many things but to take on the labour party and transform it takes some level of determination and bravery.

Farage wants a head to head with Starmer….
Let’s see if Starmer will take him on…

Why would Starmer?

There are only one of two people that will be PM on 5th July, and it will be Sunak or Starmer.

The noises from minor parties, without many/any seats is irrelevant.

Galaxy Fri 14-Jun-24 18:23:43

Sunak isnt going to be PM either to be fair.

Farage may as well be leading a party called "The Blokey-Bloke Party". I can never imagine him offering to champion a fairer deal for women in any way whatsoever, quite the reverse.
I can, however, envisage him and his ilk advocating a return to the 1950's when women's place was well and truly in the kitchen and a man was King-of-his-Castle.
So there!

Starmer is too much of a coward.

Well, unlike Farage, Starmer isn’t scared of being interviewed by Nick Robinson…

Some women like the Blokey Bloke party. Bit like Posh but Matey Party.

I prefer the Boring but Sincere party myself, or failing that the Earnest Stunts party.

This has probably been posted before but it is a potted history of Farage.

I don't think he is a coward.. but he certainly seems to have difficulties with making firm decisions.. I really hope he has a sensible long term plan and then sticks by it..

MayBee70 Sun 16-Jun-24 17:15:31

Who? Farage??Trust me he has a long term plan. And he’s sticking to it. Heaven help us….

westendgirl Sun 16-Jun-24 17:21:11

I heard Farage had cancelled the interview with Nick

I see Farage has cancelled his interview with Nick Robinson.

Wonder if he feels he is not up to actually answering questions about what his party stands for and what exactly is their manifesto.

Sorry about the extra bits.

MayBee70 Sun 16-Jun-24 17:23:57

It was because of the Reform candidates comments about how we should have sided with Hitler etc. Farage didn’t want to be questioned about his ‘parties’ ( company’s) choice of candidate.

Well, I hope not, but who can say?

Farage is the new boss of a limited company/protest party, who make a lot of noise.

They have done nothing, won nothing, and, as such, are irrelevant.

If that changes after the election, then so be it.🤷‍♀️

Yet another Reform candidate having to withdraw after telling people to vote for the BNP. Just popped up in todays Times

Reform is not a political party like the Conservatives, Labour Party, Liberal Democrats, Greens, SNP, where people who agree with the aims of the party join and ultimately the members control who leads the party and how party policy develops.

Reform is a private company controlled by Nigel Farage.

That's quite shocking - they are not vetting their candidates at all. Make no mistake - Farage has strong links with the very far right.

That’s from before Farage decided to stand, and is a podcast, not a prime time BBC 1 television interview (which, to repeat, Farage withdrew from at short notice).

No no no, he's a man of the people, he tells it as it is, he likes a pint, he's one of us, he doesn't even need an auto cue.

Reform are all about cheaper electricity or something?

westendgirl Sun 16-Jun-24 19:21:45

The worrying thing is that people think Farage is the best thing since sliced bread . In the run up to Brexit the same thing happened. He was responsible for the success of the pro Brexit
group, with no plan. He hasn't got a plan for the country now , relies on sound bites or headlines and is being greeted as a leader in some areas. No wonder he will not do the Nick Robinson interview.

varian Sun 16-Jun-24 19:57:49

Farage is a snake oil dalesman with a great gift of the gab and the ability to con the gullible and uniformed.

No wonder he was given his own show on RTV A dangerous "useful idiot" helping Putin destabilise the West', just like his hero , Putin's favourote puppet Danald Trump.

Galaxy Sun 16-Jun-24 21:20:40

I cant imagine why people turn to him. Why arent they turning to the people who call them thick. It's a complete mystery.

I don't think Labour vet their candidates very well either, the antiwhite socialist, catapulted into Clacton, endorsed by starmer, and drinks "white mens tears", what an appalling choice. Jovan Nepal.

Casdon Mon 17-Jun-24 07:50:33

Or the Tories for that matter. Sam Trask, the Bridgend candidate withdrew last week after making inappropriate sexual comments about women on a Fitness club website.

I’d rather the inappropriate candidates were weeded out now though, it would be wonderful if everybody who is elected is of the right calibre.
